1968, Southern Vietnam... The sky is like a television tuned to a dead channel. Everything has been set in motion-it all seems to have come to this moment. If you asked me about Vietnam a couple of years ago, I would have talked about palm trees, escorts, and paradise. Now, I was having some second thoughts. A tiny fly zooms over to my head, and lands near my eye. I squeeze my eyelids shut and try not to cry out as it bites my temples.
