I threw the bag in and crawled up. It was hot inside. Our summer had gone from cold to hot in a matter of days. The window shutters are stuck so I pry them open and a breeze quickly flows through. I’ve barely parked my rental car when my phone pings a message. She’ll be late with an apology. I’m not in a rush and I’m early so I look forward to the few minutes I have to relax.
