Withering away, not as sprightly as it once was, the tree sits atop the hill at the bottom of the Carnwath farm. Scars are running along the trunk and the blistered bark invested with a mustard tint. The crispy auburn leaves cling to the wrinkled, twisting branches. Skinny, creeping branches collect at the bottom of the trunk, trying to reach for any opportunity to sprout new life.
