Talia sat in the dimly lit hospital room, her eyes fixed on her mother's frail form lying still on the bed. She clasped her mother's hand, feeling the slight rise and fall of her chest as she struggled to maintain her composure. The steady beep of the heart monitor echoed in the quiet room, a constant reminder of her mother's weakening condition. The reality was almost too much for her to bear.
