I checked the little alarm clock on my bedside table though there was no need as I had grown accustomed to its faint ticking and registered each second in my mind. There was exactly ten seconds 'till my next check up at 12:00. I inhaled sharply through my nostrils as my eyelids fluttered shut ; the air smelled like metal and bleach . ‍‍‍Friday 24th May My mind has been racing since 9 o'clock last night. Now it's only 2 but I can't seem to sleep . ‍I woke up to the hushed patter of rain and rumble of thunder . A feeble white light was the only thing illuminating the space between the four pastel-green walls .
