I am a storyteller & writer from Mexico. My work mainly focuses working with children and
teenagers to teach various artistic skills such as: writing, performance, self-esteem, storytelling
and singing. I have four degrees in Mexico: Diploma in Storytelling (2002), Diploma in Creative
Writing, (2007) Diploma in Anthropology Philosophy (2007) and a BA in Spanish Literature
(2001). I have a Masters in Cultural Studies (2009) and directed two independent movies in 2004
and 2006. When I worked in the cultural education section of the government of Mexico, I did
creative writing and storytelling workshops with children and teenagers. Every 6 months the
youth would put on a play which we would write, perform and record. I also was the director of
your own theatre company, “Grupo Vita”, which produced plays and one movie. The government
employed us to bring plays to the community to teach youth life lessons and social awareness. I wrote all the scripts.
We covered serious topics such as violence in the home, traffic of drugs, etc. I wwrote in colaboration with a psychiatrist stories that boosted mental health and also I have been published in two poetry anthologies and got honor mention for my story at the contest About Women's Violence, government of Mexico City in 2006.
When I moved to Canada, I performed at MTYP, Kids Fringe (Winnipeg Fringe Theatre
Festival) and at private events in Mexico and Canada (both English & Spanish). I joined AIS
(Artists in the Schools) in 2020 and did a storytelling and creative writing workshop at Our Lady
of Victory School (2020) and Ecole Sacre Couer (2021). I also enjoy digital photography.
