I take a deep breath in when I step out of my car. It’s the first time I’ve been home for the holidays since I graduated college, so I haven't had the chance to smell that familiar hometown air in a long time. It’s crisp and smells kinda like pinecones. I look around while walking up to my parents’ front door. This is the house I grew up in, and everything looks almost the same.
