August of 2013 was a hot one, at least I can recall that much.  It’s funny how we use these arbitrary checkpoints of seasons, months, and days so strictly in the moment, even when we know full well that they’ll simply bleed together in a year or two. Like rain on wet paint, like watercolors, these subtle distinctions will mix and blend and wash away, leaving only the memory of something as stagnant as the temperature.  But I’m being cynical.
