The car screeched to the halt, those without their seatbelts were thrust forward. My seat jerked as my friend slammed into it face first, a dull groan leaving them. It almost made me laugh, but the thought of a chuckle died on my throat as the adrenaline in my veins ran cold. Alcohol thickened the air, the smell clogged my nose and made my head pound. Slowly shutting the door behind me, I made my way blindly through the dark room. I always hated this more than any other in the mansion, it always smelled like this no matter how much the room was cleaned. Feeling my way around, I stumbled towards the candle illuminating a small corner and the desk it sat upon. When I was a child with a vivid imagination, I would imagine myself in fantastical worlds filled with magical creatures like dragons and wizards. I consumed countless stories and movies, always wanting more, but nothing could satisfy my thirst for new content. Eventually, I realized that I could create the content myself. I could become an author or screenwriter and bring the visions in my head to life for others to enjoy. Writing is my way of sharing my thoughts and ideas with the world, It allows me to be the wizard of my own world of words.
