When I was a young girl, my dad bought a log cabin up on a mountain. It was nestled among the trees and near a small fishing lake. He spent almost every weekend for a year working on it before we, my brother and I, were allowed to go. I still remember that first trip as clear as crystal. Author bio

Eric Maier is primarily a writer of science fiction and fantasy. He has won contests for his short stories and has published several poems. He is the Organizer of a local writer's group with over 2,100 members. He has also produced, designed, and edited newsletters for several agencies and literary magazines. He likes hiking and playing volleyball. He has organized and captained many volleyball teams in the past, and he still plays sand-doubles almost every week. In addition, he also enjoys photography, movies, books, walleyball, games, karaoke, and spending time with his family. He likes to travel and experience new things and has been to many domestic and international destinations, including Africa, Canada, London and the Caribbean. So far, he has lived in or visited 24 of the 50 states in the U.S. He currently lives in Durham, North Carolina with his wife, his two daughters, and their boxer-bulldog mix, Loki.
