As the youngest member of a family of all boys, Emma Jones’ love for adventure blossomed into a passion for writing before she had mastered the art of spelling. Since her early childhood, Emma created mystery stories starring well loved characters from the Nancy Drew series, books by Enid Blyton, and characters from her own imagination. Her first novel, Deception, was completed in 2017, and despite it’s length of over three-hundred pages, she claims it was dreadful and not worthy of publication.
Since then, she’s grown in her mastery of spelling and has nearly completed a BA in Creative Writing (Hons). As a Christian, Emma’s greatest desire is to glorify God, whether that’s through writing wholesome, inspirational and character-driven stories, teaching piano, or working as a caregiver for a girl with autism.
Emma’s debut novel (which she is currently developing), All For Good, is a Christian Historical Fiction, where a half-blind farmer becomes a spy in WW2, unknowingly working alongside the girl he’s always loved. Emma faces the struggle between selfishness and sacrifice in the lives of two spies during WW2. While this may sound cockeyed for a girl from the twenty-first-century, Emma’s characters will draw you back to days when swell ol’ Buick’s lined the streets, and ice cream sundae’s topped with cherries aroused a ‘hot-diggity!’ from school kids.
Besides writing and reading, you can find Emma jogging at the beach in shorts (especially in the rain), sipping tea, exploring Michigan, road-tripping with friends, and spending time with family. Emma lives in South Surrey, BC, and flies around town in her stick-shift VW Golf named Lloyd.
