It was a late August afternoon, the sun blazing down on the gravel roads and the limbs of the pines rustling in the breeze. It had been years since Eleanor had driven these roads, but the route was etched into her memory. Left after the small town of Kirkfield, with the general store plastered in local advertisements where they used to go to rent movies. Jumanji. Weekend at Bernieβs.
