It was morning. I knew because my alarm was chiming its disgustingly, sweet tones. Persistently, the alarm chimed with the sound of synthetic ascending tones. Actually, the name of the ringtone was Ascending. My sister set it for me. I groaned because I had to root around on my nightstand to shut the infernal thing off.
