Nobody will know what I’ve done. I know if I can just escape from the city, I will be safe. I climb into my car and press the start button, but nothing seems to happen. I sit there for what seems like an hour, starting at the steering wheel. My hands are clean – too clean. I feel numb. I feel scared.
