~Connie~Connie hurried down the hallway, her eyes darting back and forth. This part of the building made her nervous. It’s where the new middle school wing connected to the original, century old, school building. There were two separate staircases at the core of this junction. The old and new alongside each other seemed like a grotesque double spine, with long rib-like hallways protruding out in all directions. She turned left.
