It was encouraging to see taboo topics becoming more openly discussed during our time, although it was still a slow process. Elaine Monaghan aka E. F. Smith, was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up on Long Island, spending summers with family in France and England. Writing has always been her passion, even from a young age. However, teaching paid the bills and also brought enjoyment to her. She found great satisfaction in educating young minds and knowing that she might have made a positive impact on her students. She is now happily retired and can focus full-time on her writing. Currently, she resides in England with her husband, one of her daughters, and her dog, Murphy. When she isn't writing, she enjoys traveling and thinking of new ideas to write about.
