As the radio plays a string of Christmas songs and the Christmas lights are blinking in every part of town, I sit in my ride with a heavy heart. It’s already Christmas Eve and I haven’t heard from Jared. I had called him repeatedly and I didn’t get a response. Having a boyfriend in the army had its perks but I didn’t love this one.
