I have been a creative writer in advertising for nearly 25 years, and conned millions of people into buying ‘stuff’. Mostly good stuff from famous brand names. I recently published a book 'The Absolute Bull of New Zealand: How to Get Away with Pure 96.5% Murdher--a satire of the New Zealand Justice system. I also have a series of books in mind centered around my main character, Absolute the Bull. Some are in the ‘Inspiration Ether’ and others are partly done in chapter scraps. Such as The Absolute Bull of the Queen’s English, the AB of Very Short Tall Stories, etc. I can’t write serious stuff; it’s alien to me. I have dabbled in flash fiction, satirical whimsies on Spoof.com, and rhyming poetic experiments that go from bad to verse, such as The Chryme of the Mad Inventor—a parody of Coleridge’s Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner. I enjoy a warped imagination, greatly influenced by Douglas Adams, Neil Gaiman, Private Eye, and Mad magazine. My guiding philosophy in life is a quote by John Dryden: There is a pleasure sure in being mad which none but madmen know.
