The edges have dulled. Their ability to dice and julienne and chiffonade is no longer clean or crisp. The edges leave a ragged and haphazard appearance to onions and carrots and leafy greens. Deirdre Garr Johns resides in South Carolina with her family. Nature is an inspiration, and poetry is a first love. Much of her work is inspired by memories of people and places. Her poetry has appeared in Sylvia magazine and South Carolina Bards Poetry Anthology 2021, and her short story "The Many Lives to Live" was awarded first place by the Surfside Chapter of the South Carolina Writers Association.
