Hey there. I'm Deb Dobbins (pseudo name - Deb Dobs) My friends, some wannabe writers and some just questionable readers, or in this day and age listeners, ask me all the time "don't you think you are too old to write at your age?" or "isn't writing a young person's game?". My reply to them is "maybe you should ask Jan Karon, James Patterson, Mary Higgins Clark or Nora Roberts, to name a few." Then again maybe they have a point, most of those writers did start writing and publishing when they were much younger. I too started writing when I was younger, I didn't wait until now at 68th years of age. But when you have an idea that comes to you, sometimes you just have to put it down on paper, or in your PC, Laptop, Tablet or even your phone... It could just be an affliction that affects me. However, I doubt that. To be totally honest, I had stopped writing for many years, at first it was to make a living, or try to at any rate, then, after an injury prevented me from doing that any longer, I was afraid I was getting early onset Alzheimer's and needed to keep my blue matter active, so I began taking some small writing classes and caught the bug again. Now I write, mostly because I feel like it, and hope that someone out there will enjoy reading it. I am working on a novel but that is taking longer than I had anticipated. I have a lot of time on my hands when my little Chihuahua and Silky/Yorkie doggies and my two and a half cats (one feral is co/owned with a neighbor) allow me it, so why not write. I live in the Texas countryside with all the bugs and critters as well as my sister and significant other, when they choose to claim me, on almost ten acres.
