Author bio

As a compulsive creator, my entire life has been dominated by various forms of projects in progress. From my gardens to my living room walls, to crafting to writing, I am surrounded by creations each in their own stages of life. My career life has been in teaching mostly young children, and mostly reading, although I have enjoyed teaching up to sixth graders, and have enjoyed teaching math, writing, and other content as well. Creativity has dominated this area of my life also, as I thrive in creating the just-right lesson, activity, or materials that will meet each child's needs. I believe very much in project-based hands-on learning in which the content sparks higher level thinking. I was active in the children's publishing world for a while when I was younger, but dedicated most of my time to teaching. Now that I am retiring from education, I hope to spend more time writing and engaging in the writers' world, although those other compulsively creative naggings will surely demand some time.
