3:00 am and I am still wide awake. The cabin is shrouded in the type of silence you expect from a cemetery, in the dead of night. The fireplace is alive with warmth and it keeps me feeling comfortable and safe...although I am in the middle of the woods, miles away from the nearest town or even the closest neighbor. Nights like this are meditative and peaceful. The steam from my coffee swirls into the cooler air and it's aroma fills me with happiness.
