Daisy sat neatly on the cold stone floor, legs tucked between the ancient earth and her own warm body. She cut at imaginary tendrils with stubby scissor-fingers while Mama used the giant garden snippers to trim up the tall sentry topiary, manicured into a tidy stack of spheres, except for the top.
