"Jeanette!" I called, keeping my voice quiet so, hopefully, no one except her could hear. I don't remember who named her, nor do I remember how we met. Maybe we were both left here, in this tiny little apartment, destined to meet and live and die. Sometimes I wonder what we could do together, a human and a cat, outside these constricting walls.
