Thick globs of sticky red. She thinks: Oh god, poor soul. Until it dawns on her that it’s hers. The redness spreading down her legs is her own. And she doesn’t understand why the paramedic looks at her oddly when she tells him, I’m home, this is my favorite chair…no, I don’t know why I’m covered in blood. She hopes the stain will wash out.He shines a bright light into her pupils; leaves white circles bouncing around in her retinas.
