Shards of glass covered the concrete and glistened in the morning summer sun. “You’ve got to be kidding,” Dustin said as his tires screeched. He groaned as he lifted his body out of the car and felt the glass crunch under his feet. “Just tell me they’re safe.” Sweat dripped down his forehead as he wrestled with the lock.
