I remember the first day I met Lou like it was yesterday. There he stood in front of my desk with his briefcase on his left arm, a large cup of Coke Coca from Hardee's in his left hand, and a cane in his right. Dressed in a new pair of creased jeans, just out of the plastic bag dress shirt, and a newsboy cap, it was his first day back to classes after a break. The night air is cool and damp as it blows through my hair. As I stare up at the midnight blue sky, a star gives off a faint flicker. My mind goes back to a happy time when we first met.
