The honeyed early-morning sun glinted off the lapping waters like a thousand tiny jewels. Birds sang in the June air, small voices lilting in a soothing natural orchestra. Past the waterside reeds, the fronds of tall palms whispered in a light breeze. Puffy cotton candy-colored clouds drifted across the pale blue sky, in no rush.
