Walking to nowhere in particular was now apparently her favorite hobby. She would just walk for miles on end in these desolate streets, never reaching her destination. She left her house before the sun rose, at indecent hours in the morning, and she would just walk. Sometimes in a straight line, sometimes in circles. She did not mind the cold, or the fog that haunted our town, or sometimes even the rain which hammered the top of my house like a mischief of tap dancing rats.
