Diane Lanchester stands at the foot of an imposing, red brick building, observing the details of the structure while she waits for a fellow employee to show her where she will work. It’s a sunny day and she is not on edge, and so she stands there waiting, raven-black tresses floating amongst the light breeze of an early April afternoon.
