NOTE: Trigger Warning seemed an apt title for this piece, particularly because it's written with a first-person perspective. The main character is suffering from mental illness, depression, and turns to self-harm as a means of respite. Author bio

Ashley J. Kendall is a middle-aged bipolar person who lives in a small New Jersey town. Their professional life was spent avoiding anything that involved cubicles. They have attended workshops and seminars taught by Scott Sommer and the notoriously outspoken writer Harlan Ellison. Their short story “Rebirth”, based on the Norse mythological tales about the aftermath of Ragnarök, will be published in the July 2024 issue of the Audience Askew Literary Journal.
