“Please,” she yelled, “Stop. I’m sorry.” Anna was pleading in front of her mother. But no matter how many tears she shed, her mother gave no mercy. Her mother screamed, “I tried. But every time I look at you, you remind me of your father.” Anna had nothing, no one, and nowhere to go. Her mother was everything to her.
