Novelist by passion, sailor by trade. My goal for 2021 is to publish my first short story or poem. I have a nasty habit of writing through Act I of my novels only to turn around and rewrite a list of "in name only" renditions. Hopefully, writing (read: completing) an assortment of short stories will remedy my complete lack of discipline! I look forward to growing this year! By 2024, I want my first novel (a toss-up between two of my WIPs) to be finished and ready for others' eyes. Writing is my absolute passion. It is a tool not only to pass on information, but to remove the audience from reality, to immerse them completely before their fears, their passions, and their demons: a Hercules quest, a labyrinth, a war. A story supplies hardships, but it also supplies tools and friends to help readers overcome whatever they are to face. I believe that a reader should gain strength from literature; never should they walk away from a book or story the same person as they went in--even if it is just some slice-of-life! Literature is empowerment. Readers should have a sense of understanding, inspiration, and self after every story. Writing, like a gun, is but a tool--it can be helpful and it can be devastating. Authors today shall lead the next generations. I am determined to be one of those authors.
