The Holy Fire fleet flew through the rubble of their enemy’s vessels. From the ships covered with engravings of birds and feathers emerged the Thunder Falcon teleportation ships, making their way down to the surface to engage their foe. The Falcons entered the lower atmosphere before hovering in midair and opening their wings. The Sun is our Father, providing the light for our days. The Moon is our Mother, looking out for us in the darkness. The Earth is our caregiver, providing us with the means to go on living. The Sky and Stars, our older brothers and sisters, forever watching out for us, protecting us from the wicked. When the Moon blocks out the Sun, we are reminded of their eternal love.  Eons ago, the ancient gods ruled over the cosmos. They shined with colorful light. July 14th Father died today. Doctors say it was a heart attack. I’m not surprised. His health had been declining for over a decade now. The hard part will be telling Julie. She was close to him when she was younger. Kevin’s probably going to be hurt, too. He’s too young to remember his grandfather’s better years but they still had a few happy moments. T.J.E. Hostetter was born in Montana before moving to Bismarck, North Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2020 with his BA in Creative Writing and Sigma Tau Delta English Honors. During middle school, he discovered a love of writing and creativity and has been writing ever since. His love for stories of heroes and adventures has been a driving force in his life and he hopes to tell stories that can give people icons, especially those who are differently-abled.
