Drama Mystery Creative Nonfiction

This story is about an established group of people in an institution of work. This group was good at their job and were considered to be respectable people by both their fellow workers and their boss for the past three years. All this changed when a young man who has been looking for employment for three years got hired into the same company. The boss thought of this young man as a would-be valuable worker and hired him. The young man was put on probation for three months to see how he would cope with work. He was assigned to the group which consisted of the company’s best employees so that the group might train him to become a valuable worker. The group pretended to welcome him because it was the decision of their boss. Secretly, they did not welcome him as they thought adding a new face in their midst was not the best move. As days went by, one member of the group reported the young man to his boss. The young man was accused of not following orders and for not willing to learn from his fellow workers. Before he could be called by his boss to explain what his fellow worker had reported, another worker came in and begun to accuse the young man of been arrogant and lazy. The young man was then called to the boss' office concerning what other workers had been saying about him. He denied having done anything wrong with his fellow workers. After hearing this, his boss warned him to not be disrespectful towards his fellow workers and advised him to work in harmony with them. He was told to resume whatever he was working on before he was called. He sat at his desk and continued working. The sight of him still working after been called to boss' office angered the group that was trying to get him fired because they failed to do so. After this, the group slowly started spreading rumors about him to other workers and was hated by almost every worker in the company. All because of the rumors and false accusations that started circulating the company. Despite all the accusations towards him. The young man continued to work hard because he knew this was the only way he could get his family out poverty and working at this company would help in doing so. A week later, the young man was once again accused of rudely talking back to his fellow senior workers. He denied this and due to this group's influence on the boss, his boss did not believe him. Even though his boss did not believe him, the young man was given another chance but his boss emphasized him been fired if such reports continued. As he was stepping out of his boss's office, he began to wonder how his life would be if he lost his job that he has been looking for three years and about the person who is feeding his boss with lies about him. Again this only angered the group as he was still not fired. The next day, as the young man was heading to the bathroom during his lunch break, he overheard two fellow workers gossiping about how unlucky the company has become since he was hired into this company. He decided to tell his boss about what he had just heard but unfortunately, his boss thought that the young man was trying to get back at them reporting him. He was told to return to his desk and was told to stop in trying to ruin the reputation of his best employees or would risk getting fired. Later in the day, the boss went out for a meeting and left his most trusted employee in-charge who was part of the group that was plotting against the young man. During the boss's absence, the young man has tasked with a lot of work of which some tasks were for other employees. They did this because they thought the young man would quit his job if more work was given to him. The young man completed all the tasks he had been given on time. The acting boss decided to lie on the reports that he did not do the work. A few hours later, the boss returned and immediately asked for the reports of all the work that had been done while he was out. The boss began to review the reports and found that only one worker did not do his assignments and this worker was the newly hired young man. When the boss asked why the young man did not do his work, the acting boss replied and said that the young man refused to do any work. Despite the young man's efforts towards achieving what the company expected of him, he still was been wrongfully accused by his fellow employees. Because the boss was absent during all this, he decided to let it slide for the last time. Because the group was influencing the boss, the young man's effort and hard work were slowly becoming overlooked because of the many accusations that he was in. The young man was frustrated over false reports he was put in every day but never showed it because he knew that doing so might just add more problems to which he already had. Almost a month into the job, the young man was considered not fit to work at this company by every worker because of the rumors of laziness and arrogance. Later that day he was sent to work at another branch so that the boss can review his work for the past few weeks and ask around the company about his behavior towards work. He was at another branch for two days and worked as an assistant to the boss at this branch. He felt happy and thought that things were turning around for the better. Not even aware that the group was planning to get him fired. His boss expected at least 70 percent of work done from his workers monthly.  The group decided to delete some of the young man’s progress on his computer in the hopes of getting him fired and it worked as the young man was later fired without been paid for his services

Engaging story, though maybe consider breaking up the paragraphs with space breaks to increase its readability. I think the reader would benefit if you gave the new worker a name. Though even without naming the characters I was able to follow who everyone was, it never hurts to add clarity.
