Dear Jesus,

What is the best way to hug a sinner?

Were you scared?

When they crucified you.

Were you angry?

When they crucified you.

Were you worried?

When they crucified you.

Were you angry, at your Father?

When they crucified you.

Were you angry, at your Mother?

When they crucified you?

Were you angry, at your sisters?

When they crucified you.

Were you angry, at your brothers?

When they crucified you.

Were you tired?

When they crucified you.

Were you confused?

When they crucified you.

Were you sad?

When they crucified you.

Were you angry you carried the burdens of the cross of others’

While they laughed at you, scoffed at you, made fun of you.

My biggest question:

Would a hug have helped?

When they crucified you.

Not just any ‘ole kind of hug.

A real one.

A hug that makes a person feel safe, like they are not falling down.

Loved.

Worthy.

Not too tight.

Not too loose.

A Bear hug.

A side hug.

A blow a kiss in the wind hug.

The kind sent with feelings of help.

Did you wonder.

Why “they” chose you.

To scoff at.

Ridicule.

Make fun of.

To embrace their anger and tie it up in a big giant knot of tentacled complications.

Were you sad?

When they crucified you.

Were you sad you could barely walk?

When they crucified you.

Were you trembling?

When they crucified you.

Did it hurt?

When they nailed your hands to the cross.

Did it hurt?

When they pierced you in the side.

Did it hurt?

When the sun refused to shine down on you.

Were you angry that you sacrificed your life, for us?

Were you angry, that we did not always show our gratitude with kind actions toward our bretheren?

Did you ever think?

All they need is a hug.

Or.

Do you think.

There is much more work to do.

For forgiveness.

Did you learn this through the pain?

You endured upon the cross.

Did you ask your Father, “Why”?

When you endured the pain on the cross.

Were you scared?

When they did not come to your rescue.

Did you feel desperate?

While carrying the burdens of ours.

Did you feel sorry for us?

While carrying the burdens of ours.

Did you feel frustrated?

While carrying the burdens of ours?

Did you ever wonder, “Will they ever “get it.”?

While carrying the burdens of ours.

Were you scared?

When they crucified you.

Were you scared?

When they picked you to bear the cross of others.

Were you happy?

When they picked you to carry the cross of others.

Were you worried?

When they picked you to carry the cross of others.

Were you confident?

When they picked you to carry the cross of others.

How did you know?

You could do it?

How did you do it?

Was it the trembling that taught you how?

Was it the suffering that taught you how?

Was it the pain that taught you how?

Was it missing your Mother that taught you how?

Was it missing your Father that taught you how?

Was it tough love?

That taught you, you can face anything, and still endure to embrace the causes and afflictions of another and still be left,

Standing.

Were you embarrassed?

When they crucified you.

Were you humiliated?

When they crucified you.

Were you the scapegoat?

When they crucified you.

Were you a beggar?

When they crucified you.

Did you want to “get even”.

When they crucified you.

Were you hungry?

When they crucified you.

Were you thirsty?

When they crucified you.

Do you remember their faces?

While they crucified you.

Was it haunting?

When they crucified you.

Did you feel forsaken?

When they crucified you.

When was the moment?

That you knew.

You would rise up.

And be the King of kings.

The Most High.

Were you feeling defeated?

When they crucified you?

Were you feeling like the main attraction?

When they crucified you.

Were you scared?

When they crucified you.

Were you scared they picked you?

To be chosen as the Sacrifical Lamb.

Of their lives.

With little to know regard,

For yours.

How did you forgive?

How did you learn to forgive.

Were you ever really able?

To forgive,

Completely,

Wholly,

Thoroughly.

For what they had done.

To you.

Where is the answer?

Of forgiveness?

In the wild open abyss?

Of the never ending crucification of all things terrible and horrible?

In the hell endured on earth.

Did you ever wonder,

When?

Will the crucification of you, end?

In one year?

In one thousand years?

Were you scared?

When the devil looked you in the eye and laughed at you?

Were you scared?

That you could not fight back.

In one year.

In one thousand years.

Were you scared?

When you lost the key.

To the door of the gates of hell and could not let the devil, “go”.

Were you scared of false prophets and imposters, intruders?

What happened?

To free you from sin and death?

The fear.

What happened in the moment you knew

”I am not alone.”

When you felt the abyss not swallowing you whole.

Was it a hug?🙂

How did you know?

When forgiveness embraced you in a feeling of,

“Be not afraid.” “I am with you through it all”

Did you send your assistant, an angel, to help?

Me.

To learn and grow.

Knowingly send an angel to come down from heaven with a the heavy chain and the key of the abyss to,

Seize the devil.

Lassoe the devil.😃.

And tie him up for a thousand years.

Works for me Lord!

Works. For. Me.

In return of your love and kindness, I will intentionally and forgivingly live in your house of kindness and regard of my bretheren—even the ones I do not like.

Carry on.

And do your will.

Even if and when I am scoffed and laughed at.😃

Until and when, the devil rears its ugly head.

Again.

I will be ready Lord!

Because day by day,

you generously teach me your ways!

And.

When I trip and fall, you pick me back up, dust me off and allow me once again to follow in your ways.

Amen🙏🏻
