The funny thing about trust.

Is.

It is ironic a lot of the time.

It is super duper easy to trust another when everything is going well, going swell.

But is it super duper easy to trust that same another when things go bad, really bad.

Remember, think about last week’s blog-prompts about racing, the race and the rat race………

We talk ourselves silly sometimes.

We may even drive ourselves mad, as in madness.

Anger on the other hand. It is easy.

It comes and goes.

Madness. Well. It sticks around like a bad virus with the constant and eerie whispers of melancholy and drone. (Not the high fly in’, high falutin drones that document our every move down here on planet earth.😵‍💫😳)

Whispers to a scream.

The madness continues.

Unabated. Unchallenged. Uncovered, Unwilling to wait.

For the insidious game of “catch up.” By one and all.

We cannot do it.

We cannot cope.

We cannot sit and wait.

We cannot hope.

We need action.

Any kind will do.

Even the bad kind.

We wait.

We hope.

For hope and change.

Missing the obvious.

Realizing that it is and has been occurring right in front of our very eyes. Were we not paying attention? Were we just,

Tired.

Weary.

Stupid.

Fortunate.

Unfortunate

Close calls.

Sometimes fortunate offers us close calls we should take as warnings. Heaving a sigh of relief is not enough; if we’re smart enough, we’ll change our behavior.

All of us. Each and every one of us. Simple. But not easy. rebellion and stubbornness are loud whispers in our ears.

Self-discipline is learned in the face of adversity. (wjb)

Remember.

Bad habits die hard.

We all have them.

Love first. Judge last.

We must remind the youngest of these and the least of these.

And the oldest of us and the mostest of us.

It is ok to be scared. It is ok to be fearful.

It is not ok to take it out on another other.

His bark is worse than his bite. This may mean one thing to some and another thing to another other. What makes sense to someone may not sense to another. We are all different in beautiful and complicated ways.

Conceit only reminds us of betterment. But it does not mean we are better. Until we are.

Better.

Punishments abound.

Consequences have actions.

We all have failed.

We can all change. The worst to the best and the best to the better.

Just ask the dog.

They do not know how to lie.

”Let Dogs Delight to Bark and Bite.

Isaac Watts

Let dogs delight to bark and bite,

For God hath made them so;

Let bears and lions growl and fight,

For ‘Tis their nature too.

But, children, you should never let

Such angry passions rise;

Your little hands were never made

To tear each other’s eyes.

Judge last. Love first.

We learn when we are little. “If you cannot say anything nice, do not say anything at all.”

A difficult task. For sure. For everyone. We are all imperfect in perfect ways.

Really.

Unique.

Mistake making, rule taking perfect soldiers of God.

We just need to keep on trying.

Keep showing up.

Bite our lips sometimes, when we do not have anything nice to say.

Clean the wax out of our ears when we cannot hear.

Maybe then.

We can then have a conversation of clarity. Of purpose. Of productive purpose and unselfish generosity. Once and for all.

And go from there🙂

Sure.

Things “fly” out of our mouths, words, “fly” out of our mouths which we wish to take back. During the run on sentences and pitch-of- fit moments, we always have a choice. To ask for forgiveness. To offer a helping hand. To make it better.

It takes effort.

It takes caring.

It takes hard work.

It takes a little bit of hope.

and in some cases a fair amount of change.

How?

Our Lips and Ears

(wjb)

”If you your lips would keep from slips,

Five things observe with care:

Of whom you speak, to whom you speak,

And how and when and where.

If you your ears would save from jeers,

These things keep meekly hid:

Myself and I, and mine and my,

And how I do and did.

Yep.

Yes.

And.

Pay close attention.

Even in the angriest of times.

The angriest of moments.

No hate allowed.

It matters.

No condition in the world excuses the rapid fire firing of meanness.

No age.

No history.

No color.

No creed.

No height.

No weight.

No gender.

Etcetera. Etcetera.

We should all heed the need for speed.

And then,

Yield.

The race.

It will be here tomorrow fast enough.

Soon enough.

We best be prepared with our best selves.

To be in service of others. Not because we are better.

Because transformation takes time.

It takes your time.

It takes my time.

Sometimes. No punishment in the whole wide world replaces the punishment we inflict upon ourselves.

With all the quotas out there, it is a wonder we are not all just blithering idiots. What with trying to explain our failings, mistakes and abuses. Sometimes we forget. We all are human. Getting caught does not make one better, nor worse than another who skates on by…watching the show from their self-righteousness filter and foggy window.

In the end, it doesn’t really matter.

If you know you did, in your heart of hearts, all that you could,

You are good.

Stay aware.

Stay awake.

Bite your tongue in moments of wanting to scream.

It will help in the long run.

What doesn’t kill us does make us stronger.

It is just that the meantime can be the hardest of the hard. When revisiting our past life, lives, remember it made us who we are,

for better, for worse,

for richer, for poorer,

in sickness and in health.

As long as we all shall live.

And.

Til death do us part.

From this life on planet earth to the life that awaits us with Him. Up there.

By then, the story of you will have changed a hundred different ways.

He, however, does not change.

He will still be there to welcome you with open arms no matter what.🙏🏻

He realized long ago, effort really counts, you are a good you,

Keep up the good work(s)!
