Wow! This is beautiful," I gushed, staring at the cabin as I got out of the car

"Dustin, how much did this cost?" Adelina asked, going to the trunk

"I really don't know. My parents brought this or they were given this," Dustin said, going to Adelina

"Well, we should say thank you to your parents since they're letting four 20 year olds live in their cabin," Kyle announced, exiting the car, stretching

"We can call them after we get situated. Now, lend us a hand and you too, Kimberly," I walked to the back and grabbed the luggage and placing the walmart bags on top of the luggage so we wouldn't make more trips to the car

I walked to the front door and walked in as Dustin opened it before.

"Kimberly, you can just leave the luggage there and you can place the bags in the kitchen," Dustin ordered, walking to a hallway

I nodded and left the luggage and went into the kitchen. I placed the bags on the counter and went back outside to grab the rest of the things. Once everything was inside the cabin, we waited in the living room as Dustin checked the entire cabin.

"To be honest, I thought it would've been two stories, but it's still gorgeous on the inside," Adelina said, looking at pictures

"What I want is to have my own room. I don't think I could share a room with Dustin," Kyle groan, clapping his hands together acting like he was praying

"Is he really that bad?" I asked him

Kyle looked over a me, one of his eyes peeking at me, "He's a bed hogger and likes to cuddle. He basically hugs me from behind.  Oh, not good memories for me," He shivered, remembering the memories

"How is it bad? If that was me, I would thank god," Adelina said, raising an eyebrow

"Adelina, he suffocates you. I basically had to elbow him in the gut hard, so he could let go of me," Kyle explained, shaking his head

"Well, you don't have to deal with that since there's enough room for us to have a room for ourselves," Dustin butted in, sitting down beside me

"How long were you standing there?" Adelina asked, her ears reddening

"Not that long. I came when Kyle was saying that i suffocated him," Dustin responded, "For a fact, I didn't suffocate him,"

"Dustin, no need to act like a macho man in front of the girls. They already know your a wuss," Kyle taunted him

"Ha,ha. Very funny, Kyle," Dustin stood and patted his thighs, "So, we should pick out your rooms, but were going to do it the fun way,"

"What's the fun way?" I asked him, curious

"I'll be right back," Dustin left and then came back with a cup in his hand, "You're going to grab a stick and they have numbers on them, so whoever gets number one can pick their room first, but they can't see the rooms beforehand, so be very careful when picking,"

"As long as I get a room, I don't care," Kyle got up from the couch and walked over to Dustin, picking out a stick

Me and Adelina went to Dustin, picking a stick. I looked down at mine and a frown rested on my face.

"So, who got one?" Dustin asked

"Me!" Adelina jumped, holding the stick

"Go pick your room, Adelina," Dustin went with her to show her the hallway of the rooms

Me and Kyle stayed behind. I looked over at Kyle's stick and saw he was next, "Lucky," I mumble

"Why? Did you get a lower number?" Kyle asked, looking at my stick

I held my stick closer to him and he burst out laughing, "It's not funny, Kyle," I hit him with my stick

"Kimberly, you and your luck," Kyle chuckle,  patting my shoulder

I was about to scold him, but Dustin came, "Hey, I hope I'm not interrupting, but who's next?"

"Me. Now, show me the rooms," Kyle walked over to Dustin

"I hope you get the worst room," I remarked, sticking my tongue at him

"Kimberly, put your tongue back in or I'll pull it with pliers," Kyle said, a smirk on his face

I pulled my tongue back in my mouth and felt my face burn and I looked away, but I heard Kyle laughing. 'Idiot.' After Kyle picked his room, I got the last room available. It looked very cozy and neutral, especially the bed. We went to get our luggage and placed it in our rooms then we went to the kitchen to cook brunch.

"Hey, me and Kyle are going to get wood. Well, the both of you be okay?" Dustin said, putting on his coat

"Yes. We're big girls, Dustin," I told him, showing off my bicep and flexing it

"Is that a peanut that I see?" Kyle jokes, squinting his eyes at my bicep

"You're annoying. I hope a bear jumps at you," I scowled

"That's not very funny, Kimberly. I could get seriously hurt,"

"Well if you don't want to get hurt then run,"

"Okay, I think we should get going. Well be back," Dustin grabbed Kyle's arm and pulled him outside

"Kimberly, don't act like that to Kyle. This is supposed to be a fun vacation at this cabin. Even who knows, one of us could possibly tell our crush our true feelings for them," Adelina said, placing a hand on my shoulder

"I know, but it seems he doesn't want to be more than friends. But don't worry, I'll be on my best behavior from now on. First, we need to get cooking," I went to the fridge and grabbed the carton of eggs

From then on, me and Adelina made brunch as we waited for the guys. We talked and play around. I was slicing strawberries when I heard the backdoor slammed open.

"Guys! It's snowing!" Dustin yelled, barging in the kitchen

I accidentally cut myself when I heard him yelled and when the door slammed. 'I'm bleeding.' I quickly grabbed a napkin and wrapped it around my finger.

"Kimberly, let's go," Adelina grabbed my hand and pulled us outside

"Adelina, our coats," I reminded her

"Oh yeah," She ran off and came back with our coats

I grabbed mine and put it on carefully, not trying to undo my 'bandage'. I followed after Adelina and let out a 'wow' when I saw the snow falling to the ground. I bent down to pick some snow, but was given a snowball hitting the side of my face. I stood up and shook the snow off my face and coat. I looked for the culprit and saw Kyle holding a snowball and had a grin plastered on his face. 'Oh, he's so going to get it.' I bent down again and made a snowball, not caring about my cut. I walked over to Kyle, but he started to walk away from me. I ran to him and threw a snowball at his back, but it the back of his head. I froze when I saw Kyle turned around slowly.

"Now Kyle, let's talk about this like civil- Ah!" Kyle tackled me to the ground

"Kimberly, that was cold as hell," Kyle stated, he grabbed snow in his hand, "Payback time," He stuffed snow in my hoodie

"Kyle," I yelled, grabbing snow and throwing it in his face

We were both throwing snow at each other and laughing at each other. He was still on top of me, but it was still fun. Adelina and Dustin were throwing snowballs and running after each other.

"Kyle, get off of Kimberly. You're suffocating her," Dustin said, grabbing Kyle's arm

"Yeah, get off," I pushed Kyle's chest and slid from underneath him and stood, brushing the snow off of me

"Kimberly, are you okay? You looked red," Adelina came over to me and checked my face

"Of cou- Achoo!" I covered my nose with my elbow

"Come on. Let's go inside. The snow is starting to come down fast," we walked inside and Adelina took me to a restroom

"I'll bring your clothes," Adelina said, leaving

"Thanks," I called out and stripped from my clothes, turning on the water

I took a long hot shower to get rid of the cold. I heard the door open and something being placed on the toilet.

"I put your towels and clothes on the toilet, Kimnerly," Adelina said

"Thank you, Adelina. I owe you," I told her

"I'll keep that in mine," and the door closed

I finished taking a shower, grabbing my towel and wrapping it around my body. I drain my hair of excess water as much as I could and wrapped it in a towel. I got out and saw my bathroom bag. I dried myself, put lotion on, put my undergarments and clothes on, dried my hair, and brushed it. I left the restroom to my room. I set my towels on separate chairs and placed my dirty clothes in a trash bag.

------------

"What should we do now?" Adelina asked, sitting in front of the fireplace

We all took a shower and got dressed in comfy and warm clothes. We were all in the living room, watching Frozen. A perfect movie for being out in the wilderness with snow falling to the ground.

"We can make hot chocolate," Kyle said, looking up from his phone

"I'll help," I said, standing up from the couch then walking over to Kyle, holding out my hand

"What?" Kyle asked, raising an eyebrow

"Let's go make hot chocolate. You recommend it, so you have to help," I explained, Kyle let out a groan and stood from the couch

"Come on, let's go," Kyle walked to the kitchen and I followed after him

We didn't talk, we just made hot chocolate. He would help me get the mugs from a high shelf. When we were done, we went back into the living room, I passed the mugs to Adelina and Dustin while Kyle sat down in my spot. I sat in his spot and watched Frozen. It was relaxing. Later on, Adelina decided to get the ingredients for s'mores so we can cook the marshmallows in the fireplace. We sat around the fireplace, I sat beside Kyle while Adelina sat in between Kyle and Dustin. We talked and then was left with peaceful silence.

It was night already. Well, in the middle of the night to be honest. Everyone was asleep except me. I couldn't fall asleep. It seems my mind wanted to watch the snow fall. So, here I was outside, beside the warmer, wrapping in my coat and blanket, watching the snow fall with the moon brightening the sky and snow. It's so beautiful. I didn't know staying in a cabin and watching the snowfall can be so perfect and memorable.

"So, you were here the whole time?" I turned to the door and saw Kyle walking out

"What are you doing out here," I asked him

"I should ask you that," Kyle walked over to me, his hands in his coat pockets

I watched ahead while Kyle sat down beside me. I looked over at his attire and I could see he was shaking.

"Here," I said, handing him the other side of my blanket

He looked at it then at me and I shook it. He slid his chair closer to me and wrapped the blanket around him. We sat by each other shoulder to shoulder. We didn't speak, but stare at the snow.

"Are you feeling better?" Kyle asked

"Huh? I asked, confused

"You really are clueless," Kyle chuckled, "You're not feeling sick, right?"

"Oh no. I feel fine," I answered him

"You know I didn't want to come. I just wanted to stay home and sleep in my bed," Kyle announced

"What changed your mind?" I asked him, picking at the edge of the blanket

"You," Kyle said with full confidence

"W-what!" I stuttered out, turning my head to him

I quickly got out of my chair when Kyle's face was close to mine. My heart pounding fast while my face burned.

"You really are gullible, Kimberly," Kyle said, standing from the chair, wrapping the blanket around him and walking closer to me

"S-so, you were lying?" I said, my heart aching

"No, I just thought I would sound intelligent, but I was wrong," He stood in front of me and wrapped his arms around me, the blanket encasing me, "I like you, Kimberly more than a friend. I came to the cabin, so I could confess my feelings because it's perfect. It's winter, there's snow and were at a cabin,"

"I can't believe this," I mumble, staring at his chest

"What can't you believe, Kimberly?" Kyle asked, lifting my head up by my chin

"That you like me,"

"Well, you better believe it, Kimberly. I ain't gonna stop liking you, so you better get used to it," He smiled down at me

I felt my face burn even more and hid my face in his chest. He laughed and tightened his hold on me.

"You know, once we get older, we should get a cabin so in the winter, we can remember that I confessed my feelings to you outside in the freezing cold with snow falling around us," Kyle said, kissing the top of my head

"You really think we can last that long," I said, looking up at him

"Of course I do because i don't see anyone else in my future expect you, a cabin and snow,"

"Idiot," I said, cuddling into his chest

I liked the playful flirting and rough housing between Kyle and Kimberly. It fit well with their age/stage of life. A fun romantic interlude in the snow.
