Ouch.
That hurts.
What?
What you see is what you get.
And what you may get is a konk on the head of endless and epic reminders. Over and over and over and over. Round and round and round. And it ain’t a ring of bonafide commitment. But a ring around your collar and neck slowly closing in on your ability to breathe.
Ouch.
That hurts.
A second time.
What you see is what you get.
Again.
Good thing we never played together well the first time. Otherwise we would know one another’s “playbook”. Your plan of attack. My plan of attack. Whatever happened to your mysterious playbook anyway? Last heard, your playbook got wet in the flood, did it not? Soggy, unreadable. Old, tired. My apologies to you for your lack of originality, creativity and morality. Hinders progressiveness, wouldn’t you agree.
Maybe you do not agree.
May come as a surprise, but in our refined and renewed systems, we have learned a thing or two. To quickly think and respond “appropriately”. But things do take time.
Approach or retreat.
Duck or jump.
Shout or whisper.
Astute servants, trained professionals, military are trained to never give an inch (mp) Trained to protect and train for thousands of hours in order for the best possible reaction to battlefield situations. Train so many times these situations become memory. The military calls these situations battle drills.(dk)
Battle drills.
Rattle drills.
Tattle drills.
Take their toll.
Take their tolls
Over time.
Over and over and over and over.
Did you know?
The human mind acts instinctively because of past experiences. We can develop a very accurate and sophisticated thought process over time. (dk).
Memories.
Like the corners of our minds. Sometimes get shoved and crammed into the. Or Ed’s. Of our mind. Cramming us and our memories into the corner when we feel threatened, when we are offered only the choice of lack of protection as the only choice of protection.
No deal.
No dance with you. Today.
Probably never.
Thank you for asking though.
Prefer to go with the battle born, battle willed, battle drilled of those with the muscle memory who want to do good. You see, when an enemy fires a shot at the unit, the unit executes the react to contact battle drill. They immediately get down, find cover, return fire and communicate the direction and distance to the enemy position. It is an instinctive reaction to something in the environment. (dk)
Get down.
Find cover.
Return fire.
Step One.
Step Two.
Step Three.
Yes. And No. The first shall be last and the last shall be first. His grace is sufficient for all who believe. The “evil eye” tells us to avoid that which is envy and jealousy. No complaint. No quarrel.
Service is its true reward. How others are rewarded should be of no consequence to us. Nor. Should it affect our devotion to Him. To service. To others.
Protection of the highest order. Sometimes willingly trained to be there. Sometimes the only option of training that was and is available for survival. Includes speculations and assumptions. Turns the data into a story. Automatically. Without emotions. With out heuristics.
Heuristics are mental short cuts or biases.
There are no short cuts.
Only sometimes the miserable path through and through.
Ouch.
That hurts.
Yes.
It can.
But it doesn’t have to forever.
But it can take a long time
To recover.
From the reacting.
The constant reacting.
The over reacting.
Coping takes its toll.
Coping can take its toll.
Coping is no way to live.
So where to go from here.
Step Two?
Focus?
Let’s give it a try
The human focused mind. Sounds like a good plan. A doable thing. A more appropriate response system under normal circumstances. However. Must we define normal circumstances.
Probably a good idea. Wouldn’t you agree. Maybe, you would not agree. Time will tell. It usually does. And remember it is just instinctive. Can just be instinctive. The good news. A good system two compliments, helps a good system one.
The mystery lies in the strained. What is strained. This can involve environmental, emotional, circumstantial. Purposefully or not. Normal lies in equilibrium, balance. Emotional, environmental, circumstantial and is or can be a touch more subjective.
Ouch.
That hurts.
Yes. It can.
Slow and deliberate can function as a function of more structured thinking in order for the unit to function as a unit.😳
A machine unit.
A precious familial unit😃
Oh. I am starting to get it now!
Slowly. But. Surely.
Can it be…..
Developed and honed.
Or. Is.
Experience the best teacher.
Of you.
Of me.
Life experience over the course of decades allows a more enhanced step one for the benefit of all systems. (dk)
Over prepare and go with the flow.😏
Kinda.
But humans tend to complicate that which is uncomplicated.
Tattle a non truth that wrecks and wreaks havoc just ‘cuz.
It is always prudent to stay and be focused. On the task at hand. And to be open and alert to biases and short cuts. Simultaneously.😂 Can it happen? Be done……
Where to go from here?
A renewed way of thinking. Finding truth. Not the kind of truth wherein you want to cram it into the memories and corners of our minds, others minds. The better dance is the dance with the unit.
The dance of the unit goes like this: get down, find cover, return cover.🎤🎺🪗🎸🪕
And get down to work.
Renew.
Find truth.
Listen to the voice in our head.
It helps us determine what is legally right and wrong by setting aside the heuristics and biases and emotions it recognizes. We all recognize good and bad. We do.
The human mind is a powerful tool of goodness if we carefully place the small nuts and bolts and instruments back in the tool box for safe keeping. For good. To use as the gavel of peace and peacekeeping. The tool box also houses, also keeps:
The hammer of justice.
The wrench of never-ending turning and twisting.
The screwdriver.
The nut.
The bolt.
Most important: Servitude and Service to hold the familial machine together.🥹
When honed and conditioned properly, even with insidious distractions, the familial unit stands tall and strong, too. Best of all the familial unit can and will offer grace and mercy when needed. To others.
Not self serving. Other serving. A good place. To be. In this house. The father’s house. After all circumstances and experiences have been trialled and tested to the point of seemingly no return. Exhaustingly. But if one really experiences and knows God’s inexhaustible love.
One is good. To pass it on. In the spirit of Servitude. Steadfast servitude. Whatever it takes. Except there is no crystal ball. No tarot cards. No smooth sayer to hum the truth of the outcome. No tool box of directions to change filter, deep breath, plug the hole, tape the tear. To make it all better.
Transcendent. Obedient. Disobedient. Jesus makes it personal so we will learn personal responsibility to self and to others.
The funny thing is the best possible ways to live have been revealed to us. Over and over and over. Sometimes right before our eyes. Screaming in our ears. And as focused as we are, we still miss the message. That is why step three becomes the most important step. Remembering it is complicated is the first step to the lack of judgment we must come face to face with in the crammed corners of our mind.
So.
We.
Reboot.
To Renew.
That is ok.
I’m ok.
You’re ok.
To obediently play the cards we are dealt.
