Harsh light exposes the bluish tone his lips have taken, his locks matted and bristly. The vibrant spring has left his eyes as they now look past me, glassing over. The warmth of his skin is grimly muted. My eyes rest upon his hand, waiting for another light squeeze, but none come. His eyelids flutter shut and a darkness descends on his vision.
