Opening her eyes, Kara stares at their dark bedroom. Beside her, Dylan’s soft breathing, finally slowed into a rhythmic slumber, continues steadily. Normally, the sound is enough to pull her into sleep, but not tonight. No matter what she does, she can’t settle.
