Prologue
He woke up to hear knocking on glass. At first, he thought it was the window until he heard it come from the mirror

"Calm down! It's not the end of the world. You'll just have to get used to this place. You can make new friends here, Liam." His mom snapped.
Fourteen-year-old Liam looked around hating the fact that this place, Hemmingtown, was his new home. He sat back in his seat and crossed his arms. He missed his home back in Lowisworth, that's where all of his friends were. Two months ago his parents talked about moving, although, Liam didn't really think they would. Now he sat in his dad's car listening to the sound of the car wheels rolling over smooth road. His dad, who was driving, hit a small bump in the road which made Liam hit his head against the window.
"Ow!" Liam said rubbing the side of his head.
His mother looked behind her into the backseat. "Careful Nelson!" She said looking at her husband. "You're going to make Timmy fall out of his car seat." She said and smiled at Timmy then turned back around in her seat. Timmy was only eight months old. He sat back in his car seat chewing on a small red toy car.
"Sorry guys, the road's kind of bumpy from here on out so hang on." Nelson said.
"We're almost there." His mother said.
Liam looked around. He saw a graveyard far in the distance to his left. When they drove past it, he noticed the graveyard was very small and looked to only have around fifty graves. He had never seen a graveyard that small. He saw that there was a gray house to the side of it that had no windows. The door was boarded up and a wooden sign hung from it. The letters were in a different language he didn't recognize.
Liam's dad turned into another street which consisted of white houses, each one about thirty feet away from each other. Everyone had their own yard. The neighborhood seemed peaceful to Liam. He saw kids riding their bikes, owners walking their dogs, more kids flying kites. The air smelled nice and fresh.
His dad was at the end of the street when he parked the car into a driveway.
That's strange. There aren't any houses next to this one. Liam thought. He grabbed his backpack that was in the car and got out as soon it stopped. He closed the car door and looked at the house. It looked, to his surprise, old. Liam expected it to be new but this one had a crooked white fence around the yard, the paint nearly chipped off every part of it. The porch was made of wood and had a small swinging chair big enough for one person on it.
Entering inside, the door was the same color of the house, light gray. There was an upstairs and downstairs. Liam looked up to the top of the house.Liam went to the end of the hallway and looked in the first room he saw. The room was light blue and the walls were decorated with stickers of Blue from Blues Clues. "Must be Timmy's room." He said then started thinking that Timmy was still kinda young for his own room.
A sound from the other end of the hall made Liam jump. It sounded like someone was tapping on glass. He walked down the hallway and peeked inside the room. He knew this was his.
The walls were dark blue. The room was big and designed with all sorts of outer space stickers and paintings. The planets were painted on one wall. Aliens on the other wall. The ceiling was painted black and had tiny dots of white paint for stars and there were some silver galaxies. The carpet was a light blue and fuzzy. Liam set his suitcases against the door and admired the beauty of the room. He always dreamed of being an astronaut one day.
He then heard a tapping sound again. What is that? He thought. He began looking around. He walked over to the closest and saw nothing inside. Except something covered in white wrapping. Whatever it was it was big and took up the whole closet. There was a note on the front of the wrapping.
It read: WARNING. DO NOT KEEP. DO NOT OPEN. DO NOT STAY. LEAVE BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.
The hairs on Liam's neck stood at attention as he dropped the note. He ran downstairs yelling his parent's name.
Why are you on the floor Liam?" His mom asked as she walked over to him.
Liam stared at the mirror as he brushed himself off. He kept starring at his reflection and moving his head to one side then the other.
"Liam!" His mom said in a firm voice.
Liam knew it'd be stupid to tell his mother that he saw his own reflection move itself. But he was scared. Although he was sure his mother wouldn't believe him but it was worth a try he thought.
He took a deep breath as he looked at the mirror then back to his mother. "I saw...I saw my reflection move." Liam blurted out.
Abagail stood there frowning. Her eyebrows were arched down and she stood up tall with her arms crossed. "Bed. Now." She said walking away. "You have school tomorrow. Goodnight." She said putting her hand near the light."Hey darling, you awake?" A light voice said.
Liam lifted the blanket and saw somewhat of a female figure. Thank God it was just his mother. He thought.
"I love you Liam." She said gently patting his head. Liam couldn't see her well in the dark. "Be yourself. Always be yourself. Never change." She said. Then she stood up to leave.
That was odd. Liam thought.
She was half way at the door when Liam called her. "Hey, mom?" Liam said.
His mother opened the door and stepped out. She was about to close the door but before she did she whispered something. "Oh sweetie. I am not your mother." The last word was a mix of sinister and hate.
Liam woke up the next morning looking completely worn out as if he just ran two miles. While walking into the bathroom he began to wash his face and brush his teeth. When he was done he stepped out into the hallway.
"Liam get dressed! The bus will be here soon." His mother yelled from inside the kitchen.
Liam walked to the stairs and looked up. He frowned.
After what happened last night he decided to sleep in the living room. Although, he didn't get much sleep. In fact he didn't sleep at all. Liam had to explain to his parents what happened last night, but they didn't have much to say about it.
"You want me to sleep in the living room with you sport?" Was all his dad said but Liam told him he didn't have to.
Liam's mother asked him if he wanted to stay home today but he told her he wanted to go. He'd rather stay at school then to be in this creepy place.
Liam turned the door nob to his room and slowly pushed his door. He watched as the door slowly opened. The small creaking sound of the door filled the air. That was all he heard. Turning on the lights, he stood there for a while looking at his bed.His uniform was in the middle of his bed all ironed and ready to be worn for school. He finally stepped inside his room. He felt better now that it was daylight.
He had got dressed and wore his grey tie and shoes. He grabbed a hair brush from inside of his dresser.
Walking towards the mirror slowly he began brushing his hair frontwards. He then smoothed it out with his hands.
As he brushed his hair he thought about what happened. How he saw his reflection move. He was beginning to think it was all just in his mind until...
When he was done brushing his hair something strange happened. He felt his entire body feel numb. He was standing in front of the mirror looking at his reflection. He couldn't move, but he could see around him. He felt as if his body was being held in it's place by a hundred hands. He looked around but the room seemed to be getting darker and darken. That's when it got completely dark.
"Hello...hello hello hello." Liam said as he heard the echo in his voice. "Mom...mom mom mom. Dad...dad dad dad."
*Clap*
Liam looked around as he heard the clap. It was pitch black and he didn't see a thing.
He started hearing a small ringing sound in his ear. He tried to move his hands but he couldn't and every time he'd try to move his body, he felt like he was being held down tighter. The ringing sound got louder and louder. Liam couldn't stand the loud noise. It sounds like over millions of forks, spoon, and knifes being dropped at once over and over again. It was too loud and it was hurting his ears.
He started to see a small light. Then it widened. A few seconds passed and he saw his room again. The tightness around his body released and when it did he started breathing really hard. He sucked in air rapidly.
His forehead was sweating and he began touching his head and his stomach. "What was that about?" He said looking around.
