Summer(fate)

It's that time of the year Meg,Sonia and I are always excited about.The three of us have been best friends since 5th grade and now we are in our senior year.Now,what are we so excited about? Our summer trip!

“Ana,do you know where my blue romper dress is?"asked Ally.“Do I look like the owner of the dress,how should I know where it is"?said Ana,rolled her eyes.“It was a simple question,Ana!"frustrated.

I left the room angrily to the living room annoyed of Ana's reply and the search of my dress without finding it with my searching for almost an hour.I hope to find the dress by the day end because it one of my favorite's.Oh God,is she here to annoy me again,said in my head when I saw my sister coming to living room.“Tada!look what I found"She said beaming.“What?"I asked.“Your favorite's" she said,making her hands visible to me.

I was so happy to see my dress and I thanked her for searching for it but came with a price,that's Ana for you.I rolled my eyes when she said her price.She told me to get her favorite ice cream.Easy for me.

Later in the evening,my best friends came over to my house to prepare for our three days road trip as we agreed to go for this summer.It's been long I went on a road trip and right now I am overwhelmed with excitement.“Should we go shopping tomorrow?"asked Meg.“I can't,I have a dentist appointment tomorrow"said Sonia.“Okay brace girl.We are going on Wednesday then"said Meg.I screamed with excitement “yipeeee"!

Sonia hates it whenever Meg calls her brace girl,oh yeah she got her braces when she was sixteen due to the fact she didn't like the way here teeth were.Always want to have everything perfect and her parents are ready to do anything for her.

It's D-day!Our summer road trip.I am so happy my girls and I will be having fun this weekend.I heard a loud knock on my door which disrupt my sleep immediately before I could ask who it was,these pretty annoying girls opened the door shouting “let's go have some fun" and I was on my bed laughing.They always amaze me whenever we want to go have fun.I got down from my bed and gave them a tight hug whispering in their ears,I love you both.And they said simultaneously “go brush your teeth,girl" laughing,I rushed to the bathroom shouting “i hate you both",they responded “we love you".Few minutes later,I came out of the bathroom walking towards my dressing table to dry my hair and Sonia was there reapplying her make up.I mean I saw nothing wrong with her make up earlier on.Sonia the perfect girl.Meg was on her smiling and blushing.I am sure she is chatting with Cole her crush,I don't why the two of them haven't confessed their feelings.Huh

“Hey Miss perfect,up you go,I want to dry my hair”I said to Sonia

Sonia begged for a minute and I gave in to her.After she was done I took the space to dry my hair,rub my body lotion on my body.Then I went to my closest took out my blue romper dress and went to my dressing to put on a simple make up.I can't believe the day is here,going on a road trip with my girls.Sonia and Meg had their bags already in the car I am the only one left though my clothes and other things I will need are already packed.

“Who will drive"?Meg asked.“I will"I said beaming,It's been long I got my hands on the wheel.I collected the car key and sat in the driver's seat like a queen and got the car ignited,Sonia and Meg were at the back sit dancing to the music playing from the radio.“I love your brother's car,can I love him"I asked Meg“He has a girlfriend and I don't like her,she's a witch"She said faking her cry“My brother got no time for me anymore"faking her cry the more as the said it looking for sympathy from Sonia.That girl is crazy and dramatic.I was just laughing.

I have been driving for the past one hour.The road is free.Beautiful songs blasting from the radio.Sonia head was out the window,she loves receiving the fresh air anytime we are in a car or bus.She always feels cleansed from her troubles.By the way she looks beautiful doing that.Meg was on her phone and tilting her head to the best of the song.Theni did something crazy,I did a drift twice!“Woah"I said.My girls were scared as hell and I was just laughing.“Omg! that crazy Ana!"Said Sonia.“Am I still alive because I don't want to die now"Meg said trying to catch her breath.I was just laughing and they both joined me.“I thought my head was on the floor rolling"Sonia said and we all laughed.“Can you do it again"Meg asked.“Crazy bitch,No!I'm handling the wheel now"Sonia replied.“But it's fun Sony"I begged pouting my mouth but she didn't buy that.She was out of the car in no time.

We saw a car speeding to our direction with the roof opened.“Now,I am not the one trying to kill you"I said to Sonia.Within some seconds we were back inside the car and we heard the screech of tires.Then I heard a knock on the door,the beautiful image I saw made me stare more that I didn't hear when Sonia called my name.I controlled myself when I got down from the car, my girls were out of the car already.“I am so sorry for the fear my friends and I caused you"the breathtaking handsome guy said.“Oh It is fine,I hope you're okay"that all I could say still taking his beautiful face and features in.“Yeah!I am,you?"he asked “I am fine.I am Ana,and you?"I said.“Oh...I am Clark"he said smiling.

After our little talk I introduced him to my friends and his friends alighted from the car coming towards our direction“Hey,what's going on man?"his make friend asked.“I just met these pretty ladies who are also on a road trip to San Fransisco"he told him, smiling.His smile is so charming,I said that in my head.“Wow, that's great.We could ask go together"the girl said.“That would be fun"I said.

Sonia doesn't like the idea but Meg super loved it.Sonia isn't good at making new friends, she always find that difficult to do because she is the only child while Meg loves attention and making new friends, she wants to be recognized.I totally love the idea of us going together because of Clark.I will use this opportunity to get to know him though he is shy.Yeah,he is.They were in their car and we were in ours driving at the same speed looking for where we could park and have a picnic together.At last!we found a place.We all alighted from our cars brought out the necessary things needed,arranged the place and we were set.I sat next to Clark,Meg and Sonia sat next to each other,Ben and his girlfriend Claire sat beside each other.

“Since when have you two lovebirds been dating?"Meg asked Claire.They became friends so fast.“Since we were in 9th grade"said Claire.“Wow"Sonia said.“I guess the bond between you guys strong"I said.“I love Ben with my whole heart"Claire said.“I love you to baby".We continued discussing about love and I realized Clark hasn't said anything until now.“There's nothing like true love,nothing lasts forever"Clark said.I was surprised to hear that from him.So he does not believe in love.“Oh brother,spare me that"Claire said.Another revelation.They at brother and sister.“I thought as much you guy look alike"Sonia said.Meg And I didn't we any resemblance but Sonia did.Wow.

So Clark is in the College,he came home for the summer break and he is in charge of his sister's welfare because his parents traveled to Brazil for business trip.The breeze is so cool giving me goosebumps.I sat on the lawn staring at the sky.The sun glaring at me I had to wear my shades.“Hey"I heard Clark said.“Hey,watsup?".I asked and he replied “I am good".He sat next to me but not too close and there was the uncomfortable silence for almost five minutes.I had to break the silence.

“So what you studying in college"I asked. He replied “Software engineering".“Wow,that's huge man.You must be smart and intelligent"I said.And that made he smiled.His smile beautiful and hypnotic.A smart,intelligent,handsome and of good physical quality guy, who am I not to fall for him?.I said in my head and blushing.“Why don't you believe in true love"I asked.Why would that come out from my mouth.

Clark and I had a lengthy conversation about love and other things. We got to know each other better.I got to know about the girl he so much love died of some disease.And he said “the true love I found in her shouldn't have taken her from me,should have preserved her life and we should still be together"he said in tears and I felt a sting of tears in my eyes.So in his view,one is meant to find true love in just one person which should last forever.But I had to tell him there's no forever because we aren't immortal and there are consequences in that.After our openness to each other.We went back to our silence both deep in our thoughts.I don't know what been in love is because I haven't had that feeling,I have few crushes on guys which disappear within weeks.I guess this love thing is crazy.

The following day we decided to drive in Clark's car while we parked ours at a safe place.Ben was the one driving while Clark sat at the front seat.And we were at the back seat.We am engaged in lot of things while driving,we talked about our schools,celebrities,grooved to the music,ate.It was all fun.The trip was almost ending and I am missing the beautiful people already most especially Clark.I am not certain about my feelings for him and I won't confess anything to him because I know he is not ready to mingle.But I realized he is not the shy boy I thought he was.He is cool,jovial,caring and sweet.

Our trip is almost ending to few hours my new friends and I will go separate ways.We got to where our car was packed,my friends were busy packing,Claire and her boyfriend were in the car romancing.I was on the phone with my mom,calling to inform her when I will be arriving at home.

“Hey Ann"I heard Clark call out.Yeah, he calls me Ann now when he realized my full name is Annabel.“Hey"I said back blushing,I don't know why I am blushing.“Uhm...I am happy to meet someone like you.You are a good friend and I want the friendship to continue"He said bringing out his mobile phone and getting shy now.“Yeah,me too"I said.“So here,input your digit,please?"he said.“You know you don't have to say the ‘please'".I said inputting my number on his phone smiling.“I call you, you call me Ann"he said, then he winked. This guy just make me to keep falling for him.

After the awesome trip I had with my friends and my new friends,I felt like having more summer trips with all of them.Claire and I started following each other on social medias,we Skype most times,calls on phone and all.I never miss a gist that happens in her school and I got to know her mom on our last video call.Her mom is pretty and cool.The girl is a whole vibe.She and Ben are still lovebirds.Clark and I kept our promise on calling each other.We video call sometimes because of his tight schedule and my feelings for him continued to increase.I am stuck with the thought of telling him and not telling him.Oh God help me!.Ben and I do chat but not as much as I chat with Clark.My get still connect with the trio and Claire is getting to be our close friend.

It's our final year in high school,our prom night and graduation.Meg,Sonia and I are super excited.So I am getting into college next year,wow.Few days to our prom,we shopped our dress, shoes,accessories but just one thing left for us ‘our date'.Meg already got a date with her new boyfriend Cole,yeah her crush.Few weeks after the trip Cole asked her out and she was so happy he got the courage.So they have been together for month now happy.

Sonia doesn't even care about having a date but I care.How I wish Clark could be my date,I asked him stylish if he could but he told me he has so much to do on that that.Oh that reminds me.So I will be having no date, not really happy about it though I actually rejected some guys that asked me to be their date.

The day of our prom is here,my classmates looking dashing and beautiful in their dresses.I saw Meg and Sonia and I went to them.“You babies are looking so pretty"I said pouting my mouth “Last time I checked,I an few months older than you, so I am your mama"Meg said and we all laughed.Let's go to the dance floor and show them some moves.“Claire isn't here yet"Sonia said.“She said she would call when she gets here"I replied Sonia.Claire promised us to come over for our prom night and she will be spending few days with us.After our dance we took a break and Meg excuse herself to be with Cole then Claire beeped Sonia informing her she is around.In no time she showed up in the hall looking beautiful.We had a group hug telling her we missed her.She asked of Meg and we told her she is with her boyfriend.Sonia went to look for Meg and Meg was so excited seeing her, she introduced her boyfriend to her and they both exchange pleasantries.

It's time for the couple's dance and everybody scattered with their couple,Sonia and Claire,Cole and Meg,just me and my drink.The music started.Taking in the music,I heard a familiar voice behind me “shouldn't you be on the dancing floor".I turned back and all I could see was my prince charming man.I hit him a little and hugged him “I miss you" my eyes were already teary.It's all I said.He hugged back tightly,free me a little and kissed me on my forehead then he brought out his left palm “shall we"and I replied “we shall",blushing.We were on the dance floor,dancing rhythmically to the song played I was enjoying this beautiful moment with him until he grabbed me closer to him making me to feel his heartbeat “I miss you like crazy,every minute,hour,day and month"he said.I felt my heart stop,i didn't know what to stay.Then I free my myself a little,brought my lips closer to his and kissed him and he responded back.I don't if people were watching us or taking pictures of us.I just want to have this moment.I love you Clark Erickson!
