"Are you sure Mrs Iyer, as your concerned person, let me suggest you that it's not appropriate to put your all eggs in one basket" Mrs Iyer's financial advisor urged her to be careful by surrender her entire will on one's name.
"Mr Shetty, do as I said," Mrs Iyers seems so determined on call as she makes up her mind already, her face was pale like a tired lioness who rested her case and gave up upon hunting. All she wants is to 'Rest in peace.'
In her dream
The night is getting darker. "We should rush otherwise we'll miss the event". Mrs Iyer told her granddaughter who wanders beside her. Concern and anxiety can be seen clearly on Mrs Iyer's beautiful face. "grandma, I don't want to go anywhere, and remember I'm still upset with you". Little Lily stated in her melodious voice, carrying a little bunny by her side.
"oh, my child! Let me hold you," Mrs Iyer squatted down to hold Lily. But she refused "No, I won't let you hold me." seeing that she is not willing to give up, Mrs Iyer took a deep breath and said, "Lily, do you remember when your mother told you a story about the magical park, Would you like to visit it now? Weighing that she is no longer resisting, Mrs Iyer holds her in her arms and stroll quickly, as if she can't wait to catch up something.
As Mrs Iyer proceed to cross the dark road, A bright light flashed in her eyes and
Bang
she felt like hit by something ominous She tried to make a sound but failed
"Mom" "Mom" Biju called out her name and cried. He tries to shake her so she can wake up but all in vain.
Mrs Iyer's body dead body looks so alive on her bed. However, without breath and heartbeat, it stiffened like an iceberg.
"Biju stop! Mom was gone," Amala patted Biju's shoulder with gloominess in her eyes. She is the eldest daughter in law of the house and Biju's wife, as being a responsible person she handles all household matters. So she ordered butler to arrange the funeral.
Two weeks later
"Sure Mr Shetty, you are welcome here anytime," Biju seemed so surprised after hung up the call, as he would never expect that one coming. After thinking for a while, he packs his stuff and rushed out of his office.
"Biju what happened! Why would you asked to gather everyone here?" Amala's concerned face seen first after he opens up the house door to enter.
"Mr Shetty called me and said he wants to declare the will made by mother before the day she died," and the surprising cum shock wave transferred to each and every person, who stands at the hall except for two kids, who were playing with their toys.
"what! how's that even possible." Amala is the one who reacts first, "Mom didn't go anywhere before she died, so how can she prepare the will ." she appears so sure as her eyes showed the resentment.
"Are you sure?" asked Tapan, who's the youngest son of Mrs Iyer, basically he lived Out of the city with her family and running his family business regionally.
As they were anticipating, The doorbell broke their chains of thought, and a bright face appeared in everyone's sight.
Mr Shetty regarded as a practical and valued person who comes straight to the point. After receiving greetings from everyone, his eyes suddenly lit up after catching a peek at Lily. parking his tenderness aside he cleared his throat so as to speak clearly, "I am Shamita Iyer wife of Raman Iyer in all my senses, I do my whole property in the name of my granddaughter Lily Iyer." This simple sentence popped like a time bomb and explode without warning. Both her sons and daughters-in-law looked at each other in disbelief as they hear that someone sentenced them to life imprisonment.
"How's that possible? how can Mom deliver entire will on a little hand." Biju who always Calm and Compose growl perfunctory, as the Eldest son shouldn't he be the owner of the entire property.
Seeing his enraged expression, Amala ran towards him and said, " Mr Shetty as you said, This 'will' prepare the day before mother died," she restrain herself to not to speak anything improper,
"Yess" Mr Shetty nodded.
" If I am not wrong, my mother had not gone out for the whole week, then how can she sign the property paper? Even you did not come here." she still not willing to bend her anticipations.
"I respect Mrs Iyer's preconceptions. She handed me all her property papers long ago without named it anyone, but when she called me the night before she died and order to pursue the will, trust me I was also shocked and urged her to not to do so, but she seems so determined.
After a while, Mr Shetty left the house, leaving the wilderness behind. That night was the toughest one to sleep.
Biju and Tapan won't sleep because they were thinking about future business. They suddenly felt like a bull crusher, those who will work all day but someone else will enjoy the worth. While their ladies were swinging in another dilemma, now the trust will control their expenses, which were signed, to take care of Lily's property. "How can mother in law so vicious, she did everything in the name of her granddaughter, whose parents are not even alive and did not think of us at all," Sheela can't suppress her emotions and stomped on bed vigorously.
Later on, the days and night spent in harmony. None of them speaks to each other as they were busing building their own world. Tapan, as usual, handled his regional office and showed no interest in family affairs. Moreover, he invests his saving in other fields, so in future, he would not depend only on heritage.
Besides, Biju, who already indulges deeply in the family business, found no chance to overtake. He feels disgusted and outraged whenever catching any sight of Lily, because of her, he has to humiliate, his friend and colleagues laughed behind his back.
Soon he decided to settle abroad with the help of his friend and excitedly reported all to Amala.
"No ways," as soon Amala heard his arrangement, she rejects. Although she also was pissed by Mrs Iyer's persistence, that doesn't mean they would have to apart from their home, relatives and country.
Biju tried hard to convince her, but all goes in vain. At last, she seems to agree and said word by word, " Ok then! We can't take any chance for kid's future. First, we need to enrol them," she voluntarily so concerned towards kids and their doings. " I already did that part, look at this," Biju said as he hangover a booklet having admission prospects. After scanning the documents for a while, "where are Lily's documents?" she suspiciously asked and looked at his stealing eyes.
"Lily is not coming with us," he answered in a low voice, stands up from the couch and headed towards the stairs.
Amala won't believe her ears she retorted back, "Lily is still a child of your own younger brother. How can you leave her here alone?" Although she didn't give birth to Lily but resembles her as her own child. Lily always topped on her priority list.
"Why are you always so concerned about her?" Biju growls and rolled his eyes, to boldly express his anger. On the contrary, Amala hesitated to answer and retrieved back to her position. she also asked herself the same question again and again, 'why?'
Was it because Lily's parents were not alive? or if she is the part of her first love? Absolutely right, Lily's father was Amala's, first love. But no one knows that includes Lily's father. Amala concealed her love and waited for the right time to express her feelings, but the right time never came.
She lost in her thoughts for a long time. After a while, a sudden cry broke her trail of thoughts to moved her back to her senses.
It will take a few seconds to react when she found Lily stumbled on the ground and hurt herself. She threw the documents on the table and strode quickly to grab her.
"Lily!" Amala sobbed in a low voice, and start to check that she was not injured. Looking at her beautiful watery eyes, she pondered and embraced her deeply.
At night Amala finished all her work and moved towards her room, only then she finds that Mrs Iyer's room lights were on. "Who left the light on?" she mumbled and shifts direction towards the room. She opened the door, " Is anyone here?" after confirming that no one was there she extends her hands to switch off the lights. Suddenly, she looked at the window, which was probably opened by the wind. As soon she closed the door and turned, she felt something stuck in her feet.
Next day Mr Shetty arrived at Iyer's home. He was also curious to acknowledge why Amala asked him to come home early. As ever, Mr Shetty's step entered the house, without waiting he curiously asked Biju, "where is it?" standing aside with a weird expression on his face, Biju handed him a paper.
After reading the paper carefully, he curved his lips and sighed contentedly.
"It's Mrs Iyer's handwriting and sign, that means she Already handover Lily's guardianship to Amala." Biju and Amala first looked at each other and then Lily. Maybe they never expect that.
"According to the will, LiLy will be the sole heir," Mr Shetty continued and turned to glance at Amala who hold Lily in her Arms, "Until she becomes a legal heir, all her decisions will take by Amala as her legal guardian."
As soon as Biju heard this, the glow returned to his eyes. He grabs Amala in his Arms and feels like as he regains his long lost power back.
After discussing for a long time, Mr Shetty requested Amla to leave him outside. Amla was a little surprised at first, but then she nodded and followed behind him.
Sensing that no one would bother them, Mr Shetty turned around and said, "Amala, Today I admire Your Mother in law a lot, I don't know how she forecast the future. I was a little concerned about her will at first, but after receiving the letter, all my anxieties discharged."
Amala looked at him confusingly as she can't understand what he wants to say. " Mr Shetty, Can you please elaborate?"
Mr Shetty shooks his head slightly and whispered, "It looks like Mrs Iyer knows her sons' intentions very well and knows no one will consider Lily after She died, except you." Amala stands still as she reminds all the recent events.
After Judging that she understands the whole scenario, Mr Shetty blessed her and left. Standing there for a while, Amala closed her eyes and looked towards the sky.
As she was thanking her mother in law for believing in her, " You always knows."
The end.

This was a wonderful story. It was a nice narrative. But the grammar distracted me very much. I suggest you to download an app called Grammarly. When you have such a nice story, if you have mistakes, its very disturbing. Keep writing. That is the only way to improve.
