Contemporary Inspirational Creative Nonfiction

Do you know that brutally honest friend that you should see when you wanna vent? That's your intuition and soul that escapes you.

"Just say it," you silently reminded yourself. You knew you'd regret it if you didn't.

That carefree, native, and playful soul of yours is having a tantrum as your intuition grills and dominants her. Yes, it's one of those moments.

"Please don't disassociate my love, I feel it coming," you struggle.

Caress your arms, sit comfortably, tilt your head back, get some freezing water.

You see lights brightly and hear sounds like an HD movie with no noise headphones.

You blink through waterfalls and this intensity has never been so bad.

The wind moves the curtains.

"Aww, come here," someone says. "My little butterfly, you mustn't worry, I will never leave you,"

"Who are you?" you look around.

"Sweetheart, my name is Elijah and I've seen every cry and whimper and scream,” “I'm there when you sleep and there when you need a cuddle," he smiled.

"Do you promise?" you ask more confused than ever.

"I'm here," he kissed your crown.

"Why?" you ask.

"You deserve the peace you give people in thousands that's why," he answers.

You couldn't believe him nor trust him. Why should you? What he even real? Was it fake? Is this even happening?

The waterfalls fall even faster. The screams become so deafening. Yet no one hears you.

He kneels down and its like a reflection. Those gray eyes are so illuminating, yet so cloudy.

You sigh. "I never meant to make you cry, Elijah,"

"I know, but when you weep, I weep," he sniffs. He grips your hands and kissed your right palm. "Please don't give up, I beg of you," he advises.

Your feel your heart spin. "Gosh!"

"I know, sweetheart but it's over now," he smiled.

He gets up and wipes your tears away. "You are amazing," he pulls you close to him and eventually you fall asleep.

You seal your eyes and as you snuggle against him.

"There you go, lean back more," he smiles.

"Elijah," you yawn.

"Relax," he replies

"Is it over?" you ask.

"Put down your sword this battle is over," he said.

"What about tomorrow?" you ask.

"We'll know one way or another," he said.

"So, what do we do?" you ask.

"We rest, my little butterfly," he chuckles

"That's it?" you open your eyes and look at that beautiful, angelic, yet comforting face.

"That's all I want you to do," he kissed your forehead.

"Can you stay?" you whimper

"Always," he watches as you slip away.

The next few hours confuse you when you wake. You are snuggled tightly and wrapped in a blanket. The light is off. The window is open yet there is no wind. The sky is dark. You are alone. You flip and find an imprint on the sheet. "Elijah," you finally smile.

Elijah is watching but not in a creepy way. He smiles too as you get up. You turn on some music and it happens to your favorite songs. "Thank you," you relax.

He swoops in and embraces you in a bear hug. "You're welcome,"

"Stay what you need," he asks.

"I need connection, a new reality, a beautiful purpose, maybe a fresh start too," you reply.

"It is already yours," he knew.

You dress for a walk. Just to see people, to feel the ground under your feet is weird but you invite in it. The voice is booming from music. You want to skip down the street like in those movies you love. You want everything but are not too eager for it to rush in.

Yes, it is yours!

No matter what.

They might not say so but it is
