You wake up to the piercing shriek of your alarm clock. Six o' clock. As usual. Rubbing your eyes, you stand and look around your room. A complete mess. As usual. You walk to your small bathroom, shower, then went down to the kitchen. There were still boxes piled around the small house. You had just moved in a week ago and every day you went through the same routine. Wake up at six sharp, shower, eat, bike to work, work, eat, more work, bike home, check for mail, eat, computer, bed at nine sharp. You eat a solitary meal then grab your phone and start the bike to work. As usual. But on the way there your phone rings. Not usual. You stop, grab your phone and answer the phone. Turns out you don't have work today.
"No work?" You breath as you hang up. "Now what am I supposed to do?" You slowly turn and bike home. You check the mail to see it's empty. You groan and walk inside. Usually it would be dark when you get home, but it was still early morning. And hot. You had heard about a neighborhood pool. It was open to anyone who lived in your area. You run upstairs and put your swimsuit on, decision made. You check where you're going on your phone then bike to the pool. It was quite full but the pool was huge. You look around then jump into the pool. You haven't been swimming for a long time but as soon as the water brushes your skin, everything comes rushing back. You swim around for hours then lean against the edge of the pool tiredly, looking at the people around the pool. You jump as something brushes against your leg. You lift it and I come out of the water.
"Sorry about that," I apologize.
"It's fine," You say kindly then duck under the water and swim away quickly. You never had any luck speaking to the opposite gender. You turn around to see my reaction then paused as a smug voice asks from behind,
"Are you looking for something?" You snap around to meet my gaze. I have my arms crossed and I'm smirking. "I'm impressed by your quick escape," I add, "Truly I am."
"Are you following me?" You demand, secretly impressed by my secrecy and speed when following you.
"Uh...duh," I reply, my smirk growing. You shoot me a glare then duck back under the water, swim to a ladder, and climb up out of the water. Without looking back at me, you dry off and ride home, still thinking of me.
You put your bike away then sit heavily at your computer. As you check your mail you notice a letter that makes you stop in your tracks.
Meet me at the pool at nine sharp,
anonymous.
You raise a brow and immediately suspect me. Shaking your head, you stand and sit at your table to eat. Maybe today you were off schedule, but tomorrow you wouldn't be. You still needed to get to bed on time. You shake your head again. You can't just mess up your schedule for an idiot stalker. But it might be fun. With the seeming popularity of the pool you certainly wouldn't be alone with me. You knew you'd already made up your mind.
You bike into the pool at nine sharp. Looking around you see that I am there. But so were a lot of other people. With a sigh of relief that you weren't alone with me, you slip into the water and start swimming around, but made sure I couldn't see you. Eventually you get bored of messing with me, who's eyes snap to the gates every so often. Quietly, you swim up behind me.
"Looking for someone?" You ask, smiling slightly.
I snap around. "You came," I breathed in surprise.
"Uh...duh," You respond in a teasing way. "Now. I have a couple questions for you. How the heck do you know my email and why the heck did you ask me to meet you here."
"I asked you he-"
"First question first," You snap, crossing your arms.
"Alright." I put my hands in the air in a sign of surrender. "It's not that hard actually. I saw your bag. It had a tag that said, 'If found please email...' Your email."
"Oh," You breath in surprise.
"Mhm. If you don't want random people emailing you, you may want to get rid of that," I replied.
"I probably will now," You mutter.
"Okay. And second question..." I climb out of the pool and walk over to where I had set up some food. "I want to know if you'd like some dinner."
"Alright. Two things," You say, pushing yourself out of the pool too. "A: I already ate dinner, and, B: I don't even know your name. I should at least know your name before you ask me on a date."
"No. You don't need to. Come sit with me even if you don't eat," I add.
You sigh heavily. "I really don't have time for this. I have work tomorrow.
"Oh come on. Please?"
You hesitate then nod. "Alright. For like ten minutes." I beam and sit down, you sitting across from me. "Now. What's your name?"
"I think that's more of a second date topic."
"A: No it's not, and, B: This is not a date."
"What is it with you and two points?" I ask, smirking.
You shrug. "Habit I guess."
I smirk slightly and push a slice of chocolate cake over to you. "You sure you're not hungry?"
You hesitate. "Umm...I don't know, but that certainly looks yummy."
"Go ahead." I set a fork down beside it.
Hesitantly, you pick the fork up and eat the chocolate cake. Soon it was gone. Smirking, I sit back and watch you eat. After a second you realize I'm watching and look up.
"Is there something you need?" You ask, setting the fork down and sitting back.
"Uh, no," I reply quickly, dropping my gaze and holding back a blush. You smirk seeing you finally caused me discomfort. I sit back and look back into your face.
"So. Next question here. Will there be a se-" You realize how late it had gotten. "Oh gosh. I've got to go," You say jumping up and running to your bike. I follow.
"Alright. Goodbye then," I say quietly. "Meet me at Mark's at nine tomorrow for a second date."
You hesitate. Maybe another date wouldn't be a bad idea. You nod slowly then bike away.

Before you do anything else, I would respectfully ask that you pull all your verb tenses into line. The shifting from present to past to past perfect is a challenge for following the narrative arc. Also, I'm not sure how a person can bike into a pool? It is clear that you have ideas and can put a story together. I hope to read more soon. Just keep writing and much luck.
