It was just like any day in the rainiest place in the world, New Zion South Carolina, I woke up with the rest of my platoon eager to get to work. You are probably wondering who I am, my name is James, James Paterman and I am a marine helicopter pilot. My squadron is called 8 D air capture squadron, or main job is to drop and carry supplies to men on the front lines. But today was different, when we got into the mess hall the speaker came on and said 8 D squadron to the briefing room NOW, That's when i saw the ground crew moving the helicopters into place. Without any warning I was running and fast. We made it to the room and started to get the flight suits on then the BOSS told us that the town of Cape fold island has had a massive power outage. I knew my school was there with all my friends including my girlfriend. Now you're probably wondering who the boss is, well his name is General John Parker, now a fun fact about me is that I am online, 13 years old, enough of that back to the story. He told us that I would have to lead the team into the clouded area as I grew up there learning how to fly planes. He told me personally that if I mess up going in we all mess up. We were checking the equipment in the helicopter, and then i heard someone call trigger out, fyi i am trigger its my code name, and said come back safe bro you too mark (mark is my older brother he fly the f-35 lightning 2 for the air force. We taxied to the runway where we lined up in our combat take off formation, a large V was presented on the runway of 7 helicopters ready to roll. I contacted the tower says tower this is trigger ready for take off with party of 7 to cape Floyd mission #896 over, the tower responded with a trigger: your party is cleared for take off, enjoy your flight over, copy. We took off and flew west toward the island of cape Floyd. Then I realized something: we had to shut down the nuclear power plant on our smaller sister island called Cape power. That island is where the power for the island comes from. My job was to secure the island of Floyd and make sure the power went back on, from the distance i saw our aircraft carrier that looked like it was ready for use and was ready to put up a fight, medical ships were starting to station themselves in the harbor as we flew over. 10 minutes later we split 5 chapters, went to the power plant and the other 2 which considered me and bullseye landed in a small airport near the hospital to start getting evacuations ready and to secure the area before something bad happened. Know who is bullseye well he is my best friend, he's name is jack rider and he is also one of the best pilots i have ever met. We knew our task, first we started to move people closest to the plant to the airport where the navy boys had brought in mobile homes for people to go and rest in. I was walking down toward my school where i saw the candle sticks burning in the windows, then i walked through the doors setting up work lights so people could see once again, the last room i walked into was my homeroom class, which consist of my best friends and my girlfriend Jessica, as i saw the national guard come in and start giving the students rides home i noticed Jessica had grabbed my hand, i looked down at her and smiled, then she asked me to walk her home. I did and I cocked my gun as it was still a danger zone for terrorists to be coming in and attacking us while we were setting up. As we got to her doorstep she said to me that she never wanted me to go back to the mainland any time soon, but I knew after that mission I would have another one to go to which meant I couldn't stay there long after it was over.
Three days later….
Well Three days have passed and we have finally been able to shut off the power to the power plant, I talked to my commanding officer over at the marine base that we flew in from and he told us we will be loading our aircraft carrier and heading out to Antarctica after the power is back on. We began to move surplus from the airport to the plant to fix it up. From then it would be up to a week until we were able to leave. We were given orders to move surplus from the mainland in since the islands use the airport to bring everything from the mainland, the only thing that isn't brought in is fruit meat and vegetables, since of the farmers needing fuel we had a large oil tanker in the harbor who will come in each day to drop of diesel and gasoline to the town and ships. During the day we flew 88 flights in and out of the island to the mainland with surplus food , water and lights, after 5:30 pm we were told to land and not go back out unless necessary, we landed at a quarter to 5 and then we heard the announcement that the power was back online. The next morning the power crashed but this time it wasn't good. We decided it was probably best to build a new power plant so we leveled the old one and began to build the new one. Once again we started to fly our surplus into the area but this time we were having to move fast so we could get this done within the week. We flew over 120 missions that day until we had to refuel. The next day we started to fly to the carrier for quick repairs to the aircraft, The whole day we sat on the carrier and sun bathed as it was the sunniest day of the year, even my girlfriend was on the deck with me, the commanding officer off the U.S.S Wakins (the aircraft carrier) made it a mandatory rest day which means we get to hang out and have fun.
1 DAY LATER…..
We were back to work by 3 am it was already starting to pour which means summer is here but the power plant was almost done about 95% done we were hauling huge materials from the mainland all the way to the island, for example we had smoke stacks being airlifted from the sea to the island.
It was the last day from what I could see my squadron was packing up with the rest of the navy and the marines, the national guard was on patrol so they could not pack up just yet, but then my squadron's commanding officers jet landed on the runway. As he walked up to me he said this was a successful mission, I answered him with yes, he said good you guys will be stationed here for two months until the fleet is prepared to go. I was excited to hear this but then the fleet finished loading up and left us there and then we spent the rest of our time working around the bay area on patrols for the next two months.
