ONE HELL OF A MYSTERY

9:29 AM

Slowly, James opened his eyes to the world as his mum's voice came into his dreams

"James wakie wakie" she said and her footsteps could be heard leaving the doorstep,down the stairs. Having slept late the last night due to his breeding addiction to a WhatsApp group he joined,named 'OUR MYSTERIOUS PLANET';mainly for talking about 'attention-gaining' things in one's neighborhood. The ray of the sun penetrating his green colored curtain mixed and gave some part of his room the lime color. He rolled on his matteress and heard the springs beneath respond silently,Not ready to stand up he rolled one more towards his bed table in order to get his phone, as he reached for it he remembered that a video he once watched told him 'checking your phone first thing in the morning can spoil your day'. He halted and managed to obey...although not sure if it is true. He managed to sit up and gave thanks to GOD for another day. He alighted at last and made his bed,then he headed for the water dispenser in his room and took a glass cup filled it and drank it up. The next stop was the window,on getting to the window he drifted the curtain off and opened the windows to the morning air. He breathed in,deeply and then out;his morning ritual. He headed for the bathroom and washed his face,brushed his teeth and then took his bath simultaneously.

10:15 AM

He dressed up in a denim t-shirt and ended it with Nike shorts. He then headed for his phone and read his devotional reading for the day alongside the Bible verses fixed with it;this took him 20 minutes and he headed downstairs afterward.

On opening the door he was his mum coming for him again.

"Morning mum" James put his smartphone into his side-pocket,greeted as he exited his room and closed the door behind him

"How was your night?" Mrs Smith asked him as she made a turn towards the direction she was coming from....James tagged along

"Fine as usual...dreams" James answered. 

" I already told you to always prevent eating breakfast late.." she derailed and returned to her position in front of the TV in the sitting room

"Your breakfast is on the dinning table" she said as she took her seat

" Thanks mum" James walked towards the table elegantly and took a look at the wall clock before having his seat. He took his phone out of his side pocket and placed it on the table,switched on data connection and open his WhatsApp...and made the screen go blank. He unveiled his breakfast that was previously covered by his mum with his favourite plate and placed it few inches away. Again he drank out of the cup of water prepared alongside his breakfast and felt ready to consume. His breakfast is Hash with a coddled egg atop it

It was warm already and almost cold due to his lateness but he preferred it that way. On taking a spoonful he reached for his phone simultaneously and started attending to his WhatsApp messages..1..2..3 and then he got to the 'OUR MYSTERIOUS PLANET' group. He took another spoonful from his breakfast before clicking to check what's trending. The trend was just everybody asking 

what's new today

can someone tell us something mysterious?

Please make my day with mysteriousity...etc

James smiled and also added his...

"I'll be glad to be awed today" as he sent the message,seconds later someone replied

How about you tell us something mysterious

Why me? He replied

No reason...just tell us.

As he took another spoonful he returned the spoon and rang a sound from his plate of food,and prepared to win the fight as the urger does not have a backing;on typing the words 'just let it go bro' and about to send a message joined the push

Yeah James tell us something mysterious

He checked the sender and discovered it was his crush...

"Nooo...not now" he said aloud 

As usual mum responded

"What's wrong son?"

"Nothing serious..thanks mum" he assured and then returned to his phone,not knowing what to type. And then

I'm ready James 

Came another from a member

And then it came from the admin

Everybody give it up for Jaaaameeeessss. 

Immediately this message arrived different types of emoji started falling in from different members. James had to drink from his glass of water to calm things down. His appetite halted and he changed his seat posture...

'Should I go offline' he thought....

'no..that won't look cool at all' he explained to himself.

He replied after clearing the message he was about to send beforehand

Okay guys...I'll be right back with something...just something

"Mum" he called at mum in the sitting room

" What is it?" She replied

"Please can you tell me something mysterious in our neighborhood" on finishing his request he heard mummy reply

"Seriously?"

"Yes mum" 

There was silence for some seconds and then

"How about the house on the third street?" Mum replied

" What house,there are many houses ther.."

" Hold up and listen. I'm talking about the abandoned building...as it is popularly called"

" Nice" James appreciated and " I'm okay with that I'll generate the rest" James completed,with joy in his eyes

" What do you need it for?" Mum asked

"Nothing serious mum...thanks" James redirected and then started with his phone

So guys I'm back. He typed and sent, replies

What took you so long 

Just hope you didn't Google what you are about to dish to us😄

He must have gone for a research program. Someone backed

Okay...let's get started. James coordinated

There is this house..on a third street to my street..in the city where I live. This house is built in form of a bungalow but sometimes you need to take several looks at it to recognize it as a bungalow..

Now that's one hell of a thing. Someone interrupted

I'm just getting started. James continued. This do occur anytime of the day and it freaks me out for real anytime I pass almost close to this house. More...the house is an abandoned building and it was named after its quality..'the abandoned building'. This building still got the durability quality and it is always quiet during the day but people living around it do say they hear screams from it every Wednesday and Friday night. As humans they do think it was always the work of some evildoers bringing their victims there inorder to torture them(physical torture) but anytime the bold ones(neighbours) check around the house they don't use to find any break in by strangers. This always got them surprised and they had to call the government into it. The government brought Ghost catchers to the house and the Ghost catchers left disappointed as there was nothing to catch. The government left the house there and left it under close supervision. 

Excuse me. Someone interrupted 

Why can't the government just break it down and end the story there.

Yeah...why can't they just do that 👆. Another asked

James continued

It's because the house belonged to a former, now late respected minister who asked for a favour from the government..that the house should not be taken down no matter what. 

Wow...that's mysterious. Someone commented

There's more. James said. These screams are always changing. Sometimes it may be that of a young girl,a woman,a child and sometimes animals. According to the neighbors the screams always take 2 to 3 minutes and ends with a bang on the door or table or anything...always audible. The neighbors also said sometimes they see light come on and go off instantly in the building. Guys...I'm almost freaking out right now....can't say more of that

Wow...that's ONE HELL OF A MYSTERY. Someone replied

Is the building still there?. Someone asked

Sure. James replied and the questions kept on coming but he dropped his phone,heaved a sigh of relief and drank from his cup of water..

"I'm not ready to type anymore of that" he finished as his appetite got restored
