Adventure Christian Kids

Love is like an Innocent Child.

Stubborn

Stomp Your Feet.

My way or the Highway

True. Clear. No games.

It requires of ourselves, our adult selves the ultimate examination:

The Examination of Ourselves.

Younger Kids growing and maturing understand this fire-like-behavioral currency of kicks and tricks. As as they have yet to learn and turn them as “tricks”. As their youth unfolds and they test the waters of adulthood they repeatedly check to see how it all works,

How not to get burned.

Do those adults around here really mean what they say? Can I put one or even two over on them? Are they paying attention to me. If not, how can I get them to? I am hurting, and they are too busy to listen. “What shall I do”.

The young child journeys to the creek with a rock and a stick in search of an answer when the adults are “Too busy” and crazily self absorbed in the matters of the day. Not really understanding the outcome, the child attempts to build a fire. Perhaps out of curiosity, frustration, wonderment of what lies ahead if the fire starts.

What they discover in the quiet moment is there IS someone “up there” listening. Frustration provokes the fire building especially if and when the adults are doing whatever it is that they do when not listening.

And. They realize even while the adults are not “around” , there is a confident being “up there” that “reassures us not on our level” that they are present right next to us and that “True Faith is a Fire” and although they may not get their little fire started as they wish in that outing, True Faith did ignite the flame of witness(Pope Francis)

The Most Important Witness.

Who chases after us because He loves us. Completely unafraid to do so. He will chase us until we learn and practice daily to “Burn the old balances of living” and live with: No Selfishness.

To live with no selfish tendencies. Having this way of Faith does not mean one is required to “Give it all Away” of themselves, their tithes, their lives. Have the most lucrative, stellar 501c3. What it hopefully will do is implore the adults in or out of the room to start paying attention. It absolutely implores us to

Yield.

In the face of restlessness. Because once you feel it, the presence in His presence, you will begin to really SEE the presence of those in need, the “Mysterious Face of God”. It may look like nothing you had imagined and perhaps be exactly what you thought you saw. Either way. He is there when all else fails.

Kids. The ones who learned this early in life learn this by not using. Using another to get from here to there. They learn it authentically when given a foundation of obedience and consequences. And my apologies if I disagree with the driver of the money.

Money is not a good driver. Not a good barometer. Of the fire. In the water. On the road. Straight into a tree. Wherever. When shown and sown properly and not under the table or “in the mail” with the check.

Consequences as a youth teach us order.

The ultimate adult examination requires a true and honest examination of ourselves, our motivations. There are young children and young adults way too unnecessarily restless with the label, the personal label that has been forced upon them. “You are better than me” “ I am better than you” O.K. Let’t go!!!Cause some trouble to prove it.

Then. Perhaps someone will notice the hurt. Before I run head first into a tree with drugs in my hand and head.

It does not give professional adults a plastic, paper vehicle of “carte blanche” freedom and blabbing to misguide a youth into a knife changing, pill popping existence of un acceptance. Last we used to know that was called.

Brain washing.

Does absolutely nothing to heal the wounds of the body and soul. Faith in the written word, in the the stories of the Good Book are not and were not ever intended to do this. Brain wash.

It is intended for the adults in the room, out of the room, in front of the screen, behind the screen to begin once and for all to take things seriously. When human beings are taken seriously in order to:

Provoke Change.

It Will.

Invite Conversation.

It May.

But it was not intended to provoke mutilation.

Whether one believes and practices faith is a personal choice. Why have we not given the same “luxury” to our most precious gifts?

The children, the youth, the young adults. The now breakdown of the nuclear family has included these precious souls into the mix too. Because the examinations of the old era completely and totally,

Missed the point.

Young adults forced to think they are spoiled or soft? Breaks my heart to think this. Because they are our leaders and look what we might have done when we were too busy driving our Mercedes and Beemers.

At the expense of us looking cooler than them? That goes down in my being in one giant lump of regret. I did not intend to use their emotional currency to make my self feel “better”. How about you? So practice makes more perfect as in. It is not too late today, nor will it be tomorrow, to pause, yield, breathe when you come across a person, restless, penniless, careless. And take a look into their eyes and reassure them they are ok.

There is no such thing as a small act of kindness.

Take the advice of a rock star named Francis “Burn the old balance of living in selfishness”. It will unfold the bill of regret, hopefully and faithfully stop the money train in a most positive way and lead us not into the temptation of tearing our children and each other apart from limb to limb.

The Ultimate Examination of Ourselves eventually should teach us that we are all the same in the eyes of The Mysterious Face of God.
