Friendship Sad Fantasy

Sophia was laying down on her bed, packed tightly with two pestiferous twin brothers. She pushes them away from each other as they are in deep sleep. Her hands start to get sweaty, she is anxious because she might wake them up.

Sophia pushes the brown, rusty blanket and gets up, distracted  by the beautiful trees. She takes her mind off of her brothers. Sophia looks outside and lets her sigh come out, and then, she lets her cry come out. Her blue eyes blur as she leans forward on her window. Her eyes shimmer as she takes deep breaths and starts crying out her heart. The window starts fogging up. Sophia quickly turns and looks at it. She points at the prettiest tree in her front yard. The fog starts vanishing, and the tree reveals itself. Her eyes start to water again. She reminds herself to get some more slumber as she wipes her tears away with her pink, polka dot sleeve.

She tossed and turned all night, worrying about the incident.

Sophia woke up in the morning and she did a huge stretch, and let out a big yawn.  As she stretches her polka dot sleeves begin to scrunch slowly down her arm. Once she is done, she looks at her alarm clock and is astonished! She sees that it’s 1:00 p.m! Sophia is usually an early bird! Suddenly she hears a low growl. Sophia looks down at her stomach slowly trying to investigate what is making that sound. She sees and feels her tummy rumble as the low growl repeats. The case has been solved! Sophia was hungry. She ran as fast as her legs could take her. She sneaked her breakfast into her room so that her brothers wouldn't see her. She looks at her window and sees the tree and Sophia is petrified! All it’s beautiful green leaves are fading away into darkness, leaving Sophia into her own darkness. Sophia takes a deep breath, trying  not to cry. Then she lets out a big sigh, noticing that the window had fogged up. Sophia wipes the window with her hand. She looks down at the tree and right away she twitches her eye to a lost little squirrel.

“Huh? Oh! What’s that squirrel doing? Oh no! It’s getting stuck to the branch! It’s trying to escape! But instead it’s just hurting itself! Should I go down to help it? No, don’t Sophia! Remember the incident?” Sophia said, she lifted her black square bangs up, her eyebrows curled as she cried even more. She walked around her tiny room. Her feet started pounding with concentration.

“I have got to save that poor little squirrel!”  Sophia ran down the stairs, she could feel her breakfast moving in her body by how fast she was running. Even Sophia was shocked by her running skills. In third grade. Oh, I don’t know if I can tell this to you. But there was an incident.

Six years ago, Sophia was in third grade. It was March, the sun was shining and the leaves were gleaming brightly so that everyone could notice and admire them. Sophia could feel as the spring time filled the air. She would always spend recess by observing plants. She loved to observe all the gorgeous flowers. Her favorites were the flowers with the hot pink tips, and the purple inside, and her favorite part about the flowers were the dazzling, elegant, exquisite, long green stems. Everyday she used to fill her watering can to the brim. The little shower was made out of metal and was extremely rusty, and the handle was dusty. You could tell it was really old and had been beaten up. She would always water her plants, not as a chore. It was just her favorite thing to do. One day, she saw a trail of dark green leaves leading to a dark forest. Of course, little Sophia had no idea it would be a frightening forest, so that little explorer went on, looking for more dark green leaves. Once she reached the forest, all she saw was animals, she was truly fascinated! Her eyes grew wider and wider as her mouth also grew wider and wider. Sophia was as still as an ice cube, only her blue, shimmering eyes looked everywhere as her bangs slightly covered them up. If so,  Sophia would put her bottom lip on her top lip, leaving a bit of space so that the air could escape, and then she would blow. Once her bangs were out of the way, her eyes grew wide again.  Sophia started walking around while her popping eyes were looking at everything, and everyone. As she walked deeper and deeper into the forest, she saw a squirrel. The squirrel was stuck in some bushes. The squirrel moved its arms everywhere as the branches just shook harder and harder. The thorns were deep into the squirrel skin. Blood was oozing out as the squirrel had been captured. Sophia went to help, but the squirrel let out its claw and quickly scratched her. His claws were fifteen times sharper than a needle. It scratched her arms and legs as Sophia cried and the dry dirt was flooded with water, and got turned into swamp dirt. The claws cut deeply into her skin, as new and new scars came. The blood was dripping down and down slowly all over her. But the biggest injury was on her right leg. Her skin ripped, you could see all the meat and flesh coming out slowly in chunks. Barely any left her body, but just a little bit did.

Everytime Sophia would think about the incident, she would always feel sick. She would also feel like crying because the day she went home, she lost all her friends. Even the closest ones, and that left Sophia by herself. You may wonder why her friends left her? Well my friend, they left her because their parents didn't want their kids to be involved in such terrible and dangerous things like that. So they moved from Iceland to New York. Sophia was not happy about hearing this. Iceland was beautiful, it was screaming March! It had her favorite season shown so well there. She misses her friends every day. Sophia cried and cried and cried and cried, until she finally let go of her friends and forgot about them. How they look, their names, and anything that makes them, them! But one of her friends she will NEVER forget is Samantha. Samantha would always make Sophia feel like everywhere is her home. When she would do something embarrassing in front of the class, Samantha is the one who would tell her, “No one cares, it just matters if you care.” Samantha would always pat Sophia on her back right below her neck, two times. Sophia had memorized this movement for the past 6 years. Also, she has a sore right leg, with stitches. She couldn't run properly for 6 years. But today that changed.

As Sophia was running, her eyes were getting heavy and wet. As Sophia was running down the stairs,  she grinned from going from ear to ear. She was so proud of herself. Sophia was starstruck! She never knew this day would come! She was gleeful that she could finally run again. Her hair was flying behind her head, it looked like it was going to detach itself from her scalp. Her brand new white shirt was glowing, and her dark swamp green shorts were breezing from her lightning speed. No, she was faster  than the lighting speed.

Once she reached down the stairs, she didn’t have time to stop and take a quick breath, she didn’t have time to get a drink of water, she didn’t even have time to get her shoes! But the moment she opened the brown wood door. All of a sudden her confidence had been taken away. She had all the time to freeze still. She was as still as an ice cube. But her blue eyes were the only ones moving. The squirrel quickly looked at her and looked puzzled.

“Aren’t you gonna free me? I mean, HELLO? I’m right here!” The squirrel said.

Sophia was shocked! “Did- Did- Did you just talk? Or am I just imagining it?”

“Of course I did! I mean who else would have been talking to you? This bush?” The squirrel tried putting his arms on his hips, but instead he howled, the bush went deeper into his skin the more he moved.

Sophia moved the bushes slowly out of the way as the squirrel shouted even more.

“I am so sorry! I just have to pull this over here.” Sophia reassured him.

“Ow! Just make it quick!” The squirrel shouted at the top of his lungs.

“Ok, and… almost… there! Ah. Done.” Sophia patted herself on the back and smiled slightly.

The squirrel opened its hands and closed them several times as he was enjoying that he could finally move them!

“Thank you! Oh! Yeah! Almost forgot the name’s Elton.” Elton put his hand out for Sophia to shake.

Sophia looked worried and disgusted at the same time. Elton’s hand was dripping down with blood.

“Maybe you would like to come with me to fix your hand, it's bleeding A LOT!” Sophia insisted.

Elton sat outside and waited for Sophia to bring a damp and cold towel, with a bandage. Sophia gently wiped the cold towel on his red arm. The red disappeared slowly. And his arm became gray again. Sophia placed the bandage on his beaten up arm.

“Hey, you look familiar. Like I’ve seen you before. But a younger version of you.” Elton said as he squinted his eyes and pointed at Sophia.

Sophia stopped touching Elton’s arm and looked up at him.

“Have you seen me in a dark forest?” Sophia asked slowly with her head tilted down and her eyes big and wide looking at Elton.

“I think so.” Elton replied, “Was it you?”

Sophia’s eyes blurred, her blue eyes shimmered again. She looked down at her hands, they were red. She took a long and shaky deep breath. She closed her eyes tightly as a single tear fell down onto Elton’s arm. Sophia looked back up at Elton, she said very quietly ,  “Yes, It was me.”

Elton’s eyes started to look troubled. “I am so sorry for what happened. But that was years ago! So now we can make a great friendship. It doesn't matter what I care. It matters what you care.” Elton patted her back right below her neck two times. Sophia looked back at Elton and smiled slightly.

“But why did you hurt me?” Sophia asked.

Elton looked shocked, As he was about to say his first word of his sentence Sophia’s doorbell rang.

Sophia ran faster  than lightning and opened the door, all she saw were two little squirrels that looked somewhat similar to Elton, but instead they were dressed up in bright cop uniforms.

“Good afternoon Ma’am, I’m Police Robert.” An orange squirrel said as he lifted his badge up.

“And I’m Police Tom.” A gray one said.

“We’re looking for a man named Elton Williams. He looks like this.” Police Robert showed about 8 photos of Elton, all in black and white.

“Uhh, I haven't seen him anywhere around here. But, maybe he could be around… umm… not here!” Sophia slammed the door and made a big slam.

“That girl seemed suspicious, we better keep a close eye on her.” Police Robert told Police Tom quietly.

Sophia ran to her front yard and asked Elton if he knew cops were looking for him.

“Yes, I do know that.” Elton replied.

“But why are they after you?” Sophia asked curiously .

“I’ll tell you, but don’t tell anybody about this ok?” Elton informed Sophia.

“Ok.” She replied.

When Elton hit Sophia in third grade, He was a wild squirrel during that time. He would hit anybody he saw. Even his closest friends. Even the ones he loved. The angry policemen found out that he had been injuring and killing some animals and humans. The cops are looking after him to put him behind bars.

“Oh! I have an idea! Let’s make a disguise and let your name be cleared!” Sophia shouted happily.

Elton agreed. But there was a problem.

“What disguise should I wear?” Elton asked Sophia.

“Leave that up to me.” Sophia grinned.

They first drove to Toys R Us and bought a kid police uniform. Once they had the uniform they drove to the police station and bought a kids uniform.  Finally they reached inside the police station. Elton said that he found Elton and is going to turn him in. The police were more than happy to hear that. It was Police Robert.

“Haha! Thank you so much! So where is he?” Police Robert asked.

“Right here!” Sophia and Elton punched him on the chest and Police Robert fell to the ground. Sophia and Elton quickly ran out of there and were suddenly lost.

“Where should we go?” Sophia whispered into Elton’s ear, the whole building was packed with Policemen.

“I don’t know!”  Elton shouted quitely, “Just… follow me.”

Sophia noticed that Elton was just going right, that reminded her of Samantha, Samantha would always decide to just go right and that’s it! Just right.

“Ok, we're just going right.” Elton said.

“Yeah.” Sophia said quietly as she looked down at her hands she was holding a small photo of Samantha and her. Samantha blond hair was all over Sophia’s face. Samantha peered her eyes on her and grinned as Sophia was just laughing.

Sophia closed her eyes tightly as a teardrop fell on the photo. Sophia started laughing as she wiped her tears away.

She looked up and Elton was standing there as he cried too. Elton ran and gave Sophia a BIG hug. They squeezed each other tightly and both of their tears made a big puddle on the ground

“Well, I think we gotta go to the judge.” Elton whispered quieter than ever.

“Ok, but I don’t want to let you go.” Sophia whispered back.

Elton pushed himself out from her grasp and smiled slightly. Sophia smiled back.

They ran as fast as they could, until finally they reached the judge.

“Ah, if it isn’t Elton. You pathetic fool. Why are you here?” The little squirrel judge asked Elton.

“I want to clear my name.” Elton replied.

“Ha! You think that anyone would forgive you for such a thing like that” The judge laughed.

“Well, I forgave him.” Sophia said as she stepped in front of Elton trying to protect him.

Elton looked at Sophia and whispered very quietly, Sophia could just see his lips moving by saying, “Thank you.” Sophia smiled and winked.

“Well, I guess, you have a new friend… so.. I can’t believe I’m saying this but.

Your name is cleared!” The judge said as he banged his gavel on his table and smiled delightly.

Well I’m sure you know what happened next. They lived happily ever after, and they had not only friends, but BEST friends!
